Lokhandwala Back Road is a disaster right now.

Dump trucks coming out of the law university and redevelopment sites are dumping mud all over the road. It’s slippery, messy, and extremely dangerous — especially for two-wheelers.

Simple question: Why aren’t the tyres cleaned before these trucks exit the site?

It’s basic. It’s required. Yet nothing is being done.
How long will BMC and other authorities keep looking the other way?

Do we really need a serious accident before someone wakes up?

Act fast. Clean the roads. Enforce the rules.
Before it’s too late.

Does human life even matter here?

First Hamid. His bike skidded on the rubble carelessly dumped by the trucks on the back road. He didn’t make it.

Then the Mrinal Tai bridge extension. Barely a drizzle and bikes are sliding left and right like it’s a skating rink. Another accident waiting to happen every single day.

And today… the cherry on top. A iron rod falls from a rickshaw right under the under-construction metro near Infiniti Mall. The rickshaw guy somehow walked away. Pure luck.

Rubble on roads. Slippery bridges.

Flying rods from construction sites.

We’re not asking for much. Just basic care for the people who actually live and move on these roads every day.

How many more close calls (or worse) before someone decides human life has some value here?

Around 12 noon today, near Runwal Elegant Tower in Andheri West (right in front of Infinity Mall), a piece of iron fell from the ongoing Metro bridge construction work and crashed onto an auto-rickshaw.

The auto got badly damaged, but thankfully the rickshaw driver had a narrow escape and escaped without any injury. Police also arrived at the spot after the incident.

During such construction work, the safety of people and vehicles passing below must be given top priority. Hoping the concerned authorities take this seriously and ensure proper safety measures.

Mrinal Tai Gore flyover paint rumblers added to stop vehicles crashing into crash barrier & correcting very slippery road surface which was causing multiple accidents involving bikers, trucks etc reported by LOCA.
DBM rough tar should be applied on gaps to increase traction. Thank you BMC for this action, MLA Haroon Khan, Press for highlighting this issue.

28th August, 3 PM – Mrinal Tai Gore Flyover.

A little rain and the road turns dangerously slippery.
First, a truck loses control, hits the wall and brings down the sound barriers. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
In the 10 minutes I was filming, 7 bikers skidded on the bridge — on both sides. The surface clearly becomes hazardous the moment it rains.

Something needs to be done urgently. माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC

Heartbreaking.

Young Hamid Sayed lost his life while riding his bike on the Lokhandwala backroad. He skidded on the thick mud and debris left behind by construction trucks, hit the divider, and never made it home.

Two painful truths:

This tragedy could have been avoided if construction debris wasn’t dumped carelessly on the road.

He wasn’t wearing a helmet. A simple piece of safety gear that might have given him a fighting chance.
Roads are not dumping grounds. And helmets are not optional.

Let’s demand cleaner roads and safer habits — before another young life is taken.

Rest in peace, Hamid.
You deserved better.
