SAMOSAS BESIDE A DRAIN: FDA SUSPENDS MALAD EATERY

The Maharashtra FDA has suspended the licence of Delhi Sweet & Bhelpuri House in Malad West after an inspection found serious hygiene violations.

Among the findings: samosas stored near a dirty drain and stagnant water, unfiltered water being used for cooking and drinking, and food items without proper labels or expiry dates.

The FDA also found that 26 of 36 food handlers did not have mandatory medical certificates.

The outlet has been ordered to stop all food production, storage, sale and distribution until further orders.

On 1 September 2000, Nokia unveiled the 3310 in Germany.

Small screen. Snake. Changeable covers. Crazy battery life. And a reputation for being almost indestructible.

It went on to become one of the most iconic phones ever made.

And the legend returned in 2017, when the Nokia 3310 was relaunched in a new avatar.

1960s: BEST on Marine Drive

A BEST double-decker bus, Route 123, cruises along Marine Drive, Mumbai.

Route 123 ran between Tardeo and R.C. Church, taking in some of South Mumbai’s most iconic sights along the way.

Route 123 was originally Route ‘C’, before BEST’s alphabetic routes were converted to numbers.

EXPIRY DATE… OR JUST A STICKER?

Maharashtra FDA and Navi Mumbai Police have busted an alleged racket where manufacturing and expiry dates on packaged foods were being replaced with stickers.

Food worth ₹75.5 lakh was seized, including popular products such as Maggi, Lay’s and Kurkure.

The FDA suspended the licence of the Turbhe-based firm, and an FIR has been registered.

So next time you pick up a packet, look closely at the expiry date.
If it looks like a sticker, it may be worth a second look.

Reportedly based on FDA/police action. Investigation is ongoing.
