ৰেলীৰ অন্তত পবিতৰা হাটত অনুষ্ঠিত সভাত বিভিন্ন সংগঠনৰ সদস্য, অংগনৱাড়ী কৰ্মী, স্থানীয় বাসিন্দা, ছাত্ৰ-ছাত্ৰী আৰু বহু সংখ্যক সাধাৰণ লোক উপস্থিত থাকে।

সভাত বক্তব্য ৰাখি ডাঃ জয়া প্ৰভা বড়োৱে ধঁপাত সেৱনৰ ফলত স্বাস্থ্য আৰু পৰিৱেশৰ ওপৰত পৰা বিৰূপ প্ৰভাৱ সম্পৰ্কে এক বিস্তৃত অডিঅ'-ভিজুৱেল উপস্থাপন কৰে। তেওঁ উল্লেখ কৰে যে ধঁপাত সেৱন বিশ্বজুৰি অসংক্ৰামক ৰোগৰ অন্যতম মুখ্য কাৰণ আৰু ধঁপাতজনিত বিভিন্ন ৰোগত প্ৰতি বছৰে প্ৰায় ৮০ লাখ লোকৰ মৃত্যু হয়।

তেওঁ লগতে কয় যে অসমত প্ৰায় ৪৮.২ শতাংশ প্ৰাপ্তবয়স্ক লোকে কোনো নহয় কোনো ধৰণৰ ধঁপাতজাতীয় সামগ্ৰী সেৱন কৰে, যি এক গুৰুতৰ জনস্বাস্থ্যজনিত সমস্যা। ডাঃ বড়োৱে উপস্থিত সকলোকে ধঁপাতজাতীয় সামগ্ৰী পৰিহাৰ কৰাৰ আহ্বান জনোৱাৰ লগতে পৰিয়াল আৰু সমাজত ধঁপাত বিৰোধী সজাগতা বৃদ্ধি কৰিবলৈ আহ্বান জনায়।

As part of the observance of World No To***co Day, the District To***co Control Cell, Morigaon, organized a rally and a public awareness meeting at Pobitora Hut on Saturday with the objective of spreading awareness about the harmful effects of to***co consumption and promoting a to***co-free society.

The awareness rally was flagged off by Shri Santosh Buragohain, Assistant Commissioner, Morigaon, and Smt. Archana Sharma, General Secretary of Lekhika Samaroh Samity, in the presence of District Nodal Officer for To***co Control Dr. Jaya Prabha Bodo, Shri Jyotish Barman, and officials from the Office of the Joint Director of Health Services, Morigaon.

Students of the GNM Training School actively participated in the rally, carrying placards and raising awareness messages against to***co use. The rally passed through important areas around Pobitora Hut, drawing the attention of local residents and visitors towards the importance of leading a to***co-free life.

Following the rally, a public meeting was held at Pobitora Hut, which witnessed participation from members of various organizations, Anganwadi Workers, local residents, students, and members of the general public.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jaya Prabha Bodo delivered an elaborate audiovisual presentation highlighting the adverse effects of to***co on human health as well as on the environment. She informed the audience that to***co consumption is one of the leading causes of non-communicable diseases worldwide and is responsible for nearly eight million deaths globally every year due to various to***co-related illnesses.

Dr. Bodo further pointed out that to***co use remains a major public health concern in Assam, where approximately 48.2 percent of the adult population consumes to***co in one form or another. She appealed to all present to refrain from the use of to***co products and encouraged them to spread awareness among their families and communities about its harmful consequences.

The programme also featured a cultural segment wherein members of the Lekhika Samaroh Samity rendered the inspirational song “Manuhe Manuhor Babe,” conveying the message of social responsibility, compassion, and collective well-being.

The programme concluded with all participants taking the No To***co Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to staying away from to***co and working towards building a healthier and to***co-free society.

The third and concluding day of the district-level training programme on House Listing and House Census Operations under Census 2027 Phase-I was held today at the conference hall of the DRDA, Morigaon.

The training programme brought together Circle Officers, Block Development Officers, and other concerned officials to enhance their understanding of the various operational aspects of the upcoming Census exercise. Resource persons from the Directorate of Census Operations conducted comprehensive sessions on digital enumeration methods, data collection procedures, field-level implementation strategies, and coordination mechanisms essential for the successful conduct of House Listing operations.

During the concluding sessions, participants were sensitized on the importance of ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of the enumeration process. Detailed guidance was also provided on addressing field-level challenges and maintaining data quality standards throughout the exercise.

The officials were further briefed on the House Listing activities scheduled to be carried out from 17th August to 15th September, 2026, and were urged to ensure meticulous planning and effective coordination for the smooth and error-free conduct of the Census operations.

To prevent road accidents and promote awareness on road safety and traffic regulations, the District Road Safety Committee, under the supervision of District Commissioner Anamika Tewari and Additional District Commissioner Nitisha Bora, has been conducting road safety awareness drives across various parts of Morigaon district.

Today’s drive was organised with the objective of sensitising commuters and the general public about the importance of following traffic rules and adopting safe driving practices to ensure safer roads for all.

As part of the programme, a signature campaign was also conducted where citizens pledged their commitment towards road safety by signing the message — “I Promise to Abide by Road Safety Norms.” Drivers, students, shopkeepers, and pedestrians participated enthusiastically in the campaign, expressing their support for responsible road behaviour.

Alongside the awareness activities, enforcement drives against riding without helmets and drunken driving were also carried out. Officials conducted vehicle checks and appealed to motorists to strictly adhere to traffic regulations for their own safety as well as that of fellow road users.

The training session focused on digital enumeration methods, data collection procedures, and coordination mechanisms aimed at ensuring smooth and effective implementation of the upcoming Census exercise. Resource persons from the Directorate of Census Operations held detailed discussions with Circle Officers, Block Development Officers, and other concerned officials on various operational aspects of the House Listing process.

The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Morigaon convened a review meeting today to assess key disaster mitigation and post-disaster recovery initiatives across the district. The meeting was chaired by District Commissioner Smt. Anamika Tewari in the presence of District Development Commissioner, Smt. Orpah Baglari, Additional District Commissioner Smt. Anusuya Sharma and representatives from all concerned departments.

The Authority took up a detailed review of the _Flood Mitigation by Capacity Augmentation of Morisutitup Beel_ scheme being executed by the Water Resources Department under the National Disaster Mitigation Fund. The project aims to enhance the water-holding capacity of Morisutitup Beel to reduce flood vulnerability in Morigaon district.

The meeting also conducted a comprehensive department-wise review of ongoing works under the Post Disaster Needs Assessment 2022. Progress of the Water Resources, Education, Social Welfare, PWD (Roads), and Health departments was thoroughly examined. Officials presented updates on implementation status, fund utilization, and challenges faced in executing PDNA-2022 projects.

The District Commissioner directed all departments to expedite pending works and ensure timely completion of flood mitigation measures ahead of the monsoon season. She underscored the importance of inter-departmental coordination for effective disaster preparedness and stressed that sustainable recovery of disaster-affected sectors remains a top priority.

মৰিগাঁৱৰ জিলা আয়ুক্তৰ কাৰ্যালয়ৰ সভাকক্ষত আজি জিলা উন্নয়ন সমিতিৰ এই মাহৰ বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। জিলা আয়ুক্ত শ্ৰীমতী অনামিকা তেৱাৰীৰ সভাপতিত্বত অনুষ্ঠিত বৈঠকত প্ৰতিটো বিভাগৰ কাম-কাজৰ পৰ্যালোচনা কৰা হয়। জিলা আয়ুক্তগৰাকীয়ে প্ৰতিটো বিভাগৰ উন্নয়নমূলক কাম-কাজৰ বিতংভাৱে বুজ লোৱাৰ লগতে কামৰ অগ্ৰগতি সন্দৰ্ভত বিভাগীয় মুৰব্বীসকলৰ পৰা অৱগত হয়। সভাত জিলা আয়ুক্তগৰাকীয়ে বিদ্যালয় শিক্ষা বিভাগৰ পৰ্যালোচনা কৰি বিদ্যালয়ত কন্যা শিশুৰ ১০০ শতাংশ নামভৰ্তি সুনিশ্চিত কৰাৰ ওপৰত গুৰুত্ব আৰোপ কৰে। তেওঁ এজনীও ছোৱালীয়ে যাতে বিদ্যালয় আধাতে এৰিবলগীয়া নহয়, সেয়া সুনিশ্চিত কৰাৰ বাবে প্ৰয়োজনীয় ব্যৱস্থা গ্ৰহণ কৰিবলৈ বিদ্যালয়সমূহৰ পৰিদৰ্শকক নিৰ্দেশ দিয়ে। তেওঁ কয় যে কোনো বিদ্যালয়তে ছাত্ৰ-ছাত্ৰীক সুকীয়াকৈ বহাব নালাগে। ল'ৰা আৰু ছোৱালীক একেলগে বহিবলৈ দিলেহে তেওঁলোকৰ মনত সৰুৰে পৰাই এটা সমতাৰ ভাৱ গঢ় ল'ব বুলি তেওঁ মত প্ৰকাশ কৰে। তেওঁ লগতে ছাত্ৰ-ছাত্ৰীয়ে শ্ৰেণীত বহাৰ স্থানসমূহ নিয়মীয়াকৈ সালসলনি কৰি থাকিবলৈ নিৰ্দেশ দিয়ে যাতে কোনো ল'ৰা-ছোৱালীয়ে সদায় শেষৰ আসনত বহিবলগীয়া নহয়। জিলা আয়ুক্তগৰাকীয়ে বিদ্যালয় আধাতে এৰা ছাত্ৰ-ছাত্ৰীক পুনৰ বিদ্যালয়লৈ ওভতাই অনাৰ বাবে বিশেষ শিক্ষামূলক গাঁও সভাৰ আয়োজন কৰাৰ নিৰ্দেশ দিয়ে। স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগৰ পৰ্যালোচনা কৰি তেওঁ শিশুৰ টীকাকৰণৰ ক্ষেত্ৰত সু-পৰিকল্পিতভাৱে আগবাঢ়িবলৈ নিৰ্দেশ দিয়ে যাতে এটিও শিশু উপযুক্ত সময়ত টীকাকৰণৰ পৰা বঞ্চিত নহয়। তেওঁ ১৪-১৫ বছৰ বয়সৰ ছোৱালীক জৰায়ু মুখৰ কৰ্কট ৰোগ প্ৰতিৰোধী এইচ পি ভি প্ৰতিষেধক ল'বৰ বাবে আহ্বান জনায়। আনহাতে মৰিগাঁও অসামৰিক চিকিৎসালয়ত যাতে কোনোধৰণৰ বে-আইনী কাৰ্যকলাপ সংঘটিত নহয় সেয়া সুনিশ্চিত কৰাৰ বাবে স্বাস্থ্য সেৱাৰ যুটীয়া সঞ্চালকক প্ৰয়োজনীয় ব্যৱস্থা গ্ৰহণ কৰিবলৈ নিৰ্দেশ দিয়ে। কৃষি বিভাগৰ পৰ্যালোচনা কৰি তেওঁ ধান ক্ৰয়, প্ৰধানমন্ত্ৰী ফচল বীমা যোজনা, কৃষক পঞ্জীয়ন, কিষাণ ক্ৰেডিট কাৰ্ড, ভূমি স্বাস্থ্য পত্ৰ আদিৰ স্থিতি সন্দৰ্ভত সবিশেষ বুজ লয়। তেওঁ লোকনিৰ্মাণ (গৃহ) বিভাগৰ অধীনত নিৰ্মীয়মান মৰিগাঁও আৱৰ্ত ভৱনৰ অগ্ৰগতিৰ বুজ লয়। আজিৰ সভাত জিলা আয়ুক্তগৰাকীয়ে উপস্থিত বিষয়াসকলক উদ্দেশ্যি কয় যে প্ৰতিটো বিভাগে সমন্বয়েৰে এটা দল হিচাপে কাম কৰিব লাগিব। সভাত জলসিঞ্চন, মীন, পশুপালন আৰু পশুচিকিৎসা, উদ্যোগ আৰু বাণিজ্য, হস্ততাঁত আৰু বস্ত্ৰশিল্প, মহিলা আৰু শিশু বিকাশ বিভাগ, খাদ্য, ৰাজহুৱা বিতৰণ আৰু গ্ৰাহক পৰিক্ৰমা বিভাগ আদিৰ কাম-কাজৰ পৰ্যালোচনা কৰা হয়। সভাত জিলা উন্নয়ন আয়ুক্ত শ্ৰীমতী অর্পা বাগলাৰীয়ে কেইবাটাও বিভাগৰ পৰ্যালোচনা কৰি কামৰ গতি ত্বৰান্বিত কৰাৰ নিৰ্দেশ দিয়ে। আজিৰ সভাত অতিৰিক্ত জিলা আয়ুক্ত শ্ৰীমতী অনুসূয়া শৰ্মা, ডঃ ময়ুৰপঙ্খি বৰা আৰু শ্ৰীমতী নীতিশা বৰা আৰু বিভিন্ন বিভাগৰ মুৰব্বী বিষয়াসকল উপস্থিত আছিল।

The monthly meeting of the District Development Committee was held today at the conference hall of the District Commissioner’s office in Morigaon under the chairpersonship of District Commissioner Anamika Tewari. The meeting reviewed the progress and functioning of various departments across the district.

During the review of the School Education Department, the District Commissioner stressed the importance of ensuring 100 percent enrollment of girl children in schools and directed officials to take necessary measures so that no girl child drops out of school. She also emphasised promoting equality among students through inclusive classroom practices and regular rotation of seating arrangements.

Reviewing the Health Department, she instructed officials to ensure timely immunization of all children through proper planning and encouraged girls aged 14–15 years to take the HPV vaccine for the prevention of cervical cancer. She also directed the health authorities to take necessary measures to prevent any illegal activities in Morigaon Civil Hospital.

The District Commissioner further reviewed the status of paddy procurement, PM Fasal Bima Yojana, farmer registration, Kisan Credit Cards, Soil Health Cards, and the progress of the under-construction Morigaon Circuit House. She called upon all departments to work in close coordination as a team for effective implementation of developmental activities.

The meeting also reviewed the functioning of the Irrigation, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Industries & Commerce, Handloom & Textiles, Women & Child Development, and Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs Departments, among others.

District Development Commissioner Orpah Baglari also reviewed several departments and instructed officials to expedite the pace of ongoing works. Additional District Commissioners Anusuya Sharma, Dr. Mayurponkhi Bora, Nitisha Bora, and heads of various departments were present at the meeting.
