*SFI protest against the massive question paper leak of NEET UG 2026, which led to date cancellation.*
The Central Executive Committee of the Students’ Federation of India registers its protest on the major question paper leak of NEET UG 2026 exam that led to the cancellation of the May 3 test. The NTA, which has been infamous for the mismanagement of exams since its inception, once again continue to prove its inability in the management of exams.
According to reports, nearly 600 out of the total 720 marks had been compromised, severely affecting the integrity of the examination. Nearly 15 out of the 180 questions in the exam were allegedly circulated in advance through a probable question paper and around 120 questions from the Chemistry section were reportedly leaked verbatim.
The Modi Government is directly responsible for the misconducts of the exams to prestigious institutions. The adverse impacts of the measures taken by the Modi government to centralise the exam system by ignoring the diverse standards and requirements of different institutions were pointed out by the student organisations including SFI and other sections of the society from the very beginning. One among the major concerns pointed out was the chances of large-scale corruptions and mismanagement, which has proven true in a big number of exams conducted by the NTA. The centralisation efforts and the mismanagement by the Modi Government that paved way for the sprouting of numerous exam mafias in different parts of the country. This has also promoted large scale entrance coaching market that pushed the desperate middle class of India into exploitation and insecurity.
SFI demands proper investigation of the paper leak. The mismanagement by the NDA has caused huge expense and anxiety for the students, for which the NTA should provide compensation to the students. Moreover, the Union government should recognise its unscientific and inefficient centralisation attempts regarding the exams and scrap the NTA.
