Mastering Bibliometric and Scientometric Analysis: Tools, Techniques, and Research Writing
Overview and Objectives
Nextgen Knowledge Hub, Bhiwandi, Thane MH, India, is hosting a comprehensive 2-day online workshop dedicated to "Mastering Bibliometric and Scientometric Analysis." This program is specifically designed for researchers, academics, students, and library professionals aiming to develop robust theoretical and practical proficiency in utilizing bibliometric and scientometric methodologies. The workshop's primary objective is to equip participants with a sound understanding of bibliometric methods, essential data sources, processing techniques, and key performance indicators for research analysis and mapping.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
• Gain awareness of and effectively utilize major research databases (Scopus, Web of Science).
• Perform advanced database searches, Developed search strategy and downloading data set.
• Proficiency in Step by Step software Installation process, and Advanced data Analysis
• Achieve hands-on proficiency 5 Tools namely Bibliometrix/Biblioshiny, VOSviewer, HistCite, Scientopy, and Bibexcel.
• Learn the structured process for writing and publishing a bibliometric research paper.
Workshop Topics/Content
Day 1: (November 16, 2025)
• Overview of Bibliometrics/Scientometrics: Definition, scope, evolution, and significance in research evaluation.
• Data Acquisition, Preparation Processing: Search strategies, data structure, and export formats for quality data extraction. Techniques for cleaning, normalization, and standardization of raw bibliometric data.
• Hands-on Practice of Bibliometrix & Biblioshiny): Installation, basic data import, and initial descriptive analysis (e.g., top authors, sources, countries).
Day 2: (November 17, 2025)
• Hands-on Practice of VOSviewer: Installation, Data preparation, creating, and interpreting different network maps (e.g., co-authorship, keyword co-occurrence), and cluster analysis.
• Hands-on Practice of HistCite: Installation, Data processing and System configuration, and detailed Data Analysis.
• Hands-on Practice of Scientopy and BibExcel: Installation, Process of raw data into a readable format and Data analysis.
• Conclusion: Demonstration of how to write and structure a bibliometric research paper, followed by a Q&A session.

Submission Procedure
1. The chapter should clearly indicate the title of the paper, a sub title (if required), name (s) of author(s), email ID, address of Institution, city and country.
2. Length of paper: 3000-10000 words (6-15 pages), single spaced, 12 point font size, Times New Roman,MS Word format (A4 size). Pages should be numbered consecutively.
3. Abstract should not exceed 200 words and keyword up to 5.
4. APA style for References
5. Tables and Figures may be incorporated into the text of the paper as close to where they are first referred.
