The word ESAR Club is an abbreviation of Sports and Recreation Club. The ESAR CLUB is the first community club in the locality named Maylanchivalavu. The name of the locality is named Maylanchivalavu because this area was filled with plenty of Mayalnchi plants (Henna plants) for many decades. People from neighbourhood visit this place to collect Mayalnchi (Henna leaves) for festivals and celebrations.
The ESAR Club is the first community club to be established in the fast growing Maylanchivalavu community. The club was officially established in 1987. Few young and small boys from this locality came together and started paying different sports. Most of them liked football and volleyball. Football remained the most favourable sports activity during summer and volleyball becomes the favourite sports during monsoon. These young boys spent most of their evenings and holidays by involving in many different sports and recreational activities such as cricket, fishing, swimming, karate, marble play, cycling and many more. This bounding made a group of young people become friends beyond religion, cast and colour. They became friends for life and they all are still friends. This legacy still continues but, due to raise in population and scarcity of land the sports activities have significantly reduced and impacted the sports and recreational activities of the young community.
After many years then small and young kids are now grown and become socially committed adults and they all want to make a positive impact to the community and neighbourhood they were raised. They want to make sure the kids and young of todayโs age have the facilities and opportunity for good health and to be good citizen through arts, sport, education and social services. Want to create a socially responsible citizen who has an obligation to act for the benefit of society at large and realise that every individual has to perform to maintain a balance between the economy and the ecosystems.
ESAR Club should become a plat form for the socially committed individuals to come together and act as good human being. Religion, colour, caste, education and status in the society should not become a barrier to make friends, to become colleagues, to help each other, to like and love each other.
