Aligarh Muslim University - Malappuram Centre Unofficial Aligarh Muslim University was established by the great social reformer, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. The AMU - MC has recently celebrated its 2nd anniversary.

Set in a 343 acre campus on a beautiful hillock at Chelamala (about 10 km away from Perinthalmanna) in the Malappuram district of Kerala, AMU - Malappuram Centre would be giving a much required fillip to the educational scenario in the state. It was established as the Mohammedan Anglo Oriental College (MAO College), in 1875. In 1920, the College was converted into a full fledged University by an a

ct of Parliament. Today,the Aligarh Muslim University is the 5th best University in the Country. The nation wide expansion of AMU in the form of establishment of centres in Kerala and West Bengal is a physical manifestation of the dream of the great founder. This expansion drive of AMU has been hailed by the national media as the "RELAUNCH OF THE ALIGARH MOVEMENT". The campuses have been established under Section 12(2) of the AMU Act 1981. The establishment of the AMU campuses would pave the way for an Educational Renaissance among the people of the respective regions. These campuses are envisioned to become separate universities when AMU would be celebrating its centenary celebrations in 2020. It has a total strength of 300 students, with 2 departments, namely the Department of Business Administration and the Department of Law. There are presently 2 batches for MBA and 3 batches for BA LLB. There are 2 hostels for girls and 5 hostels for boys. With Best Regards,

Her research spans classical and molecular taxonomy, developmental biology, and ecology of soil and freshwater nematodes—making her the first Asian scientist to be honoured by the Organization of Nematologists of Tropical America (ONTA). 20 AMU RCA Students Qualify UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026

ALIGARH, June 19: The Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), Aligarh Muslim University, has achieved another milestone with 20 of its students qualifying the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026.

Prof. Mohd. Hasan, Director, RCA, described the achievement as a reflection of the students' hard work and the Academy's sustained efforts to provide quality coaching, mentorship, and academic support. Assistant Directors Dr. Mohd. Firoz Ahamed, Dr. Ale Imran, and Dr. Rabab Khan also congratulated the successful candidates.

Following the encouraging results, RCA has launched an intensive coaching programme for the UPSC Civil Services Main Examination 2026, comprising classroom teaching, answer-writing practice, essay guidance, personalized mentorship, and a structured test series. The Academy has also invited applications from other candidates who have qualified the Preliminary Examination and wish to join its specialized Mains coaching and test series programme.

AMU Professor Delivers Talk on Sufism and Workplace Spirituality

ALIGARH, June 19: Prof. Aamir Riyaz, Chairperson, Department of Philosophy, Aligarh Muslim University, delivered an online lecture on Spirituality in the Workplace: A Sufi Perspective at a programme organized by the Centre of Central Asian Studies, University of Kashmir, with support from the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR).

In his lecture, Prof. Riyaz explained the basic concepts of Sufism and spirituality, describing Sufism as a psycho-physical approach to understanding human existence and well-being. He discussed secular, philosophical and religious perspectives on spirituality and highlighted the relevance of Sufi principles in addressing contemporary social and personal challenges.

Emphasizing the transformative potential of spirituality in professional and personal life, he argued that the values of Sufism can contribute significantly to resolving many of the crises and sufferings faced by modern society.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion in which Prof. Riyaz responded to questions from participants.
