कोर एरिया में रॉयल बंगाल टाइगर्स की डेंसिटी काफी ज्यादा है। टाइगर आकार और ताकत में तेंदुए से बड़े होते हैं और अक्सर तेंदुए पर हमला कर उन्हें मार देते हैं। इस खतरे से बचने के लिए तेंदुए बाघों के मुख्य इलाके (core territory) से दूरी बनाकर रखते हैं।

Dudhwa ka Terai ecosystem ghane Sal ke jangal aur unchi elephant grass (Narkul) se dhaka hai. Cheetal ya Sambar alarm call tabhi dete hain jab woh kisi predator (tiger ya leopard) ko dekh lete hain. Dudhwa mein kam visibility ke karan hiran tiger ko door se dekh hi nahi pate.
