Bullets Strike Students Again

In an extremely shocking incident Comrade Ajijhar Rahaman from Daspara (Chopra 2), who was protesting against the brutal murder of two students in Islampur, is attacked by armed hooligans while he was returning home from Dhanirhat. Comrade Rahaman is shot with several rounds of bullet and is badly injured with a severe injury caused by the bullet in his right arm. He is now admitted at North Bengal Medical College. Central executive Committee of Students’ Federation of India condemns this heinous violence committed by the hooligans of Trinamool Congress.

It should be noted that, there is an absolute breakdown of law and order in West Bengal under Mamata Banerjee, as repeated incidents of heinous crimes are reported everyday. Last week, when students of Darinbhit high school were agitating against authorities for teachers for subjects like history, geography and maths, the police has brutally repressed the protest leading to the murder of two students Rajesh and Tapas Barman. SFI and all other Progressive Student Organisations had called a successful Student Strike across the state on 22nd September, 2018. SFI comrades have taken this movement ahead, frustrating the goons of ruling party to commit gruesome violence upon SFI comrades. The attack on Comrade Ajijhar Rahaman is indicative of shrinking space of democracy in west Bengal under Mamata Banerjee. SFI urge all progressive and democratic forces to come up and protest against this barbaric attack.
