CHITTORGARH Fort ja rhe ho ? 😯 Complete Information

Chittorgarh Fort, located in Rajasthan, is a 7th-century UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Asia's largest forts. Known as the pride of Rajputana, it was founded by the Maurya dynasty and served as the capital of Mewar. It is famous for its three intense sieges (1303, 1535, 1568) and the valiant Jauhar (self-immolation) performed by women.

Historical Timeline and Sieges
Foundation (7th Century): Established by Chitrangada Mori, a local Maurya ruler, it was later captured by Bappa Rawal of the Sisodia Rajput dynasty in the 8th century.
1303 Siege (Alauddin Khilji): The Delhi Sultan, Alauddin Khilji, besieged the fort to capture it and supposedly queen Padmini. King Ratnasimha and his soldiers fought to the death, and Rani Padmini committed Jauhar.
1535 Siege (Bahadur Shah of Gujarat): Sultan Bahadur Shah of Gujarat attacked the fort. Rani Karnavati led the women in Jauhar while Rajput soldiers fought to the end.
1568 Siege (Emperor Akbar): Mughal Emperor Akbar conquered the fort after a long siege. The Rajputs, led by Jaimal and Fatta, died fighting, and a third Jauhar took place.
Later History: The capital of Mewar was shifted to Udaipur shortly after the 1568 siege.

Major Structures Within the Fort
Vijay Stambh (Tower of Victory): Built in 1448 by Rana Kumbha to celebrate his victory over Mahmud Khilji, this 9-story tower is decorated with sculptures of Hindu deities.
Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame): A 12th-century Jain tower dedicated to Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankara.
Rana Kumbha’s Palace: The oldest palace in the fort, known as the birthplace of Maharana Udai Singh and the home of the poet-saint Meera Bai.
Rani Padmini’s Palace: A white palace built beside a water pool, associated with the legend of Rani Padmini.
Water Bodies: The fort is known as a "Water Fort," formerly holding over 20 water bodies.

Significance
The fort spans 700 acres, sits on a 180-meter-high hill, and represents the epitome of Rajput courage, sacrifice, and architectural prowess.
