21st June,1977, Bengal witnessed a historical moment when first Left Front Government was formed. Today we respectfully remember Martyrs, Comrades and the people of West Bengal who were the leading forces behind establishment of the people's Govt.
The next 34 years in West Bengal was the history of progress and struggle, the history of people's participation in administration. We salute the architects of that golden era, the people.
Remarkable achievement of 34 Years of Left Front Govt would not have been possible without the massive and unwavering support of the working people of West Bengal for the programme and policies of the Left Front Government.
Left Front has set a shining example by implementing land reforms and establishing a decentralised model of local self-government through a three-tier Panchayati Raj, which has empowered millions of rural poor and irreversibly changed their lives for the better.
Left Fornt has always been exemplary in defending secularism, securing democratic rights and upholding probity in public life.The legacy of Left Front Govt in West Bengal continues to be a reference point for progressive and democratic forces across the country.
