Dum Dum Motijheel College experienced a highly successful month of July, marked by extensive campus-wide participation. Various academic departments, spanning both the sciences and the humanities like Microbiology, Human Development, History etc along with different committees of college organized a series of commemorative activities. Celebrating Paschim Banga Diwas alongside the birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee (born July 6) is highly fitting, considering his monumental role in the political history and creation of West Bengal.

These kinds of campus-wide events really bring a college to life, allowing students to connect historical legacies with cultural pride through exhibitions ,essay writing competition, discussions, and seminars.

It was a pleasure to coordinate the "My First Pay Cheque" Investor Awareness Programme at Dumdum Motijheel College, organised by Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund in association with 2i Educare, the education wing of 2nd.Inning.
The session provided our students with valuable insights into financial literacy, helping them understand the importance of budgeting, saving, investing, and making informed financial decisions right from their very first pay cheque. Such initiatives bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-life financial preparedness, empowering students to build responsible financial habits from the beginning of their careers.
A heartfelt thank you to Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund for bringing this meaningful investor awareness initiative to our campus, and to Mr. Md. Aamir Sulaiman, Assistant Vice President, Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, for an engaging and insightful session. I also appreciate the efforts of 2i Educare for facilitating this impactful programme and helping create greater financial awareness among our students.

Today Dum Dum Motijheel College observes Pashchim Banga Diwas with immense pride in acknowledging the historic formation of West Bengal. DDMC's IQAC in collaboration with Cultural Committee, Media and Publicity Committee, Campus Development Committee, Microbiology Department and Human Development Department organized a series of meaningful and insightful initiatives like special lecture, essay competition, poster presentation and plantation drive reflecting on the state's history and looking forward to its sustainable and rich in culture future.

The ceremony was elevated by the esteemed presence of our honorable MLA Arijit Bakshi who graced the occasion as our Chief Guest. The day commenced with a solemn hoisting of our college flag.
In a disciplines and proud display of patriotism, our NCC Cadets presented a spectacular Guard of Honour to welcome our dignitaries.
Our own Associate Professor Dr. Mimi Bhattacharya of history department gave an enlightening academic discourse on the historical journey of West Bengal during partition.

The Department of Chemistry, Dum Dum Motijheel College is pleased to announce that one of our former student, Souvik Agasti graduated in 2023 (CGPA 9.69) has got the opportunity to pursue Ph.D. in the University of Toulouse and the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) with the prestigious CNRS fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Sami Lakhdar on the topic “Synthesis and application of Phosphorus catalysts.”
CNRS collaborate through a massive network of joint research units and laboratories across the Midi-Pyrénées region. Together, they represent one of the largest and most prestigious scientific research clusters in Europe.
He qualified JAM in 2023 (Rank AIR 303), NET (2024). He completed M.S. from IISER, Kolkata (2025).
