In order to encourage Ease of Doing Business, the government of West Bengal has introduced large scale reforms under one single window across multiple sectors.

“Silpa Sathi” ( www.silpasathi.in ) - is Bengal’s call to micro, small, medium and large businesses to ride the growth in industry, enterprise and entrepreneurship in the state. Some of the new reforms implemented:

- Self Declaration

and Self Certification introduced
- No clearance or consent required for industries under ‘White’
and ‘Exempted’ categories
- Online web-based information dissemination
- E-services and single window system for business
- Industry facilitation centre (IFC) in every district
- Single window system for Business enacted through Single
Window Act
-Simplification of process or procedures – decentralization and
reduced documentation
- GIS maps
