শুরু হয়েছিলো মানুষের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর তাগিদ থেকে, ২০২০-২১-এর ঝঞ্ঝাক্ষুব্ধ সময়ে। গৃহবন্দী পৃথিবীতে তৃতীয় বিশ্বের প্রান্তিকদের জীবন রাখাটাই তখন সবচেয়ে বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ। আমরা স্কুলের কয়জন বন্ধু মিলে প্রায় রাতারাতি সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিলাম বিন্দু-পরমাণু-সমান হলেও কিছু করতে হবে। কারণ, আমরা বিশ্বাস করেছি, শিখেছি মন্ত্র- “আমাদের থাক মিলিত অগ্রগতি”। কোভিড-এর ঘাড়ে করেই তাই আমফান, ইয়াস যখন আছড়ে পড়লো অরক্ষিত, অপরিকল্পিত উন্নয়ন-কবলিত এলাকায়, আমাদের সীমিত সামর্থ্য আর “হয়ে যাবে ভাই”-এর অটুট জেদ বুকে নিয়ে নেমে পড়েছিলাম তহবিল সংগ্রহ করে মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছতে।
ঝড় গেছে। অতিমারী গেছে। কিন্তু মানুষের সব দুর্দশা তারা সঙ্গে নিয়ে যায়নি। সেই ভাবনা থেকেই পথ চলতে থাকার চেষ্টা।
আসন্ন উৎসবের মরশুমে তাই আমরা আবার যাচ্ছি, বাঁকুড়ার ডিহিপাড়াতে, বিগত বারের থেকেও কিছু বেশি সংখ্যক শ্রমজীবী পরিবারের শিশুদের হাতে নতুন জামা তুলে দিতে। আনন্দময়ীর বৎসরকার ঘরে ফেরার উৎসবে শিশুদের তৃপ্ত মুখের হাসিই অতসীপুষ্প-বর্ণাভা দেবীর আলোর বেণু।
ধর্ম-বর্ণ নির্বিশেষে এপার বাংলার শ্রেষ্ঠ উৎসব, প্রাণের উৎসবে তাই আপনারাও আসুন, পাশে দাঁড়ানোর সংকল্প নিয়ে। বিগত পাঁচ বছরে আমাদের ক্ষুদ্র উদ্যোগের প্রশ্নে আপনারা কখনোই নিরাশ করেননি। এবারও তাই, কৃতজ্ঞতাপাশে নিজেদের জড়িয়ে নিতে এসেছি আপনাদের দ্বারপ্রান্তে।

It all began from our innermost urge to stand with people during the turbulent times of 2020–21. In a world locked indoors, the biggest challenge for the marginalized communities in the Third World was to cling on to mere life. A few of us school friends decided almost overnight that we had to do something — however small, however atomic — because we believe and live by the thought: “Let us progress together.”
So when Amphan and Yaas struck vulnerable, poorly planned, and underdeveloped regions in the middle of COVID, we took to the field — with limited resources and an unshakable determination of “we’ll get it done Bhai” — to raise funds and reach people in need.
The storms passed. The pandemic faded. But not all of people’s suffering left with them. That very thought is what drives us to keep walking this path.
And so, in the upcoming festive season, we’re returning to Dihipara in Bankura — this time, to bring new clothes to even more children from working-class families than in previous years. In the festival that celebrates the annual homecoming of Dugga, the true hue of Atasipushpa-barnava Devi shines brightest in the smiles of happy children.
Regardless of religion or caste, this is Bengal’s greatest festival — the festival of life — and we invite you to join us, with a vow to stand together. Over the past five years, you have never turned away from our humble efforts. This time too, we come to your doorstep with gratitude in our hearts and hope in our hands.
