• Selection of villages based on project criteria
• Conducting fieldwork (in-depth interviews & FGDs)
• Preparing written transcripts in a time-bound manner

"𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐫"- 𝐁𝐲 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐜𝐡𝐢 (2026)

ABSTRACT:
This essay explores the position of Bangladesh and its external relations during the Cold War, and how it was shaped by the history of Pakistan and other neighboring nations. Tracing the trajectory of the Bengali Language Movement and Operation Searchlight, this chapter examines the nation-building process in the aftermath of a violent partition and the forces leading to military dictatorship. It provides an account of the dynamic changes in Bangladesh’s foreign relations with China, India, the Islamic countries, and the United States and how international aid has been crucial to its economic development and policy reform. Furthermore, by examining the role of international aid, the chapter evaluates the principles of non-alignment, peaceful coexistence, and opposition to colonialism, racialism, and imperialism enshrined in Bangladesh’s foreign policy.
