The SCSP training programme was successfully conducted from 5th to 9th January 2026 at KVK, Kolar. The programme was funded by ICAR–NAARM and implemented by CSB–REC, Madivala in collaboration with the Department of Sericulture, Kolar and KVK, Kolar. A total of 30 sericulture farmers participated in the training, where focused efforts were made to upgrade them from grassroots-level practices to high-tech sericulture. The programme aimed to improve their skills, productivity, and income through scientific bivoltine sericulture practices.

An awareness program was organised under the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman campaign at Cocoon Market, Kolar, in collaboration with the Farmers Producers Organisation (FPO), Kolar. The program focused on soil health management and pest and disease management in mulberry cultivation to sustain the sericulture industry.

Farmers actively participated, appreciated the sessions, and showed keen interest in the discussions, making the program a grand success.

An awareness program was organised under the Mera Resham Mera Abhiyan campaign in Mulbagal Taluk, with active participation of local sericulture farmers. The program was conducted in collaboration with the State Sericulture Department and the Mulbagal Farmers Producers Organisation.

Key focus areas included farmers’ cooperatives for sustaining the sericulture sector and practical guidance on current pest and disease management. Farmers appreciated the sessions and expressed keen interest in the discussions, making the program a success.

Under the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman campaign, an awareness program was conducted at Bairandahalli village in collaboration with the College of Agriculture, Chintamani, UAS Bangalore.

Farmers were sensitised on pest and disease management in mulberry and encouraged to take up bivoltine silk production. A demonstration on cocoon handicraft preparation was also given as a secondary income option. The activity drew good interest from farmers, who actively participated in the program.

An awareness program was conducted at Kaji Kallalli village, Kolar Taluk, Kolar District, in collaboration with Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) students of the College of Sericulture, Chintamani.

A live demonstration was conducted to showcase the importance of soil health management in producing quality mulberry leaves. Details were shared on the role of quality leaves in practising bivoltine sericulture. Farmers were also introduced to the preparation and use of Jeevamrutha to improve soil fertility, and many expressed interest in adopting it at the field level.

Under the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman programme, an exposure-cum-demonstration programme was organised at Hoskote village, Bangarpet, Kolar district.

The session focused on mechanisation in sericulture and recycling of sericulture waste for soil fertility management. Farmers witnessed live demonstrations and observed the positive impact directly in the gardens, gaining valuable in-field experience.
The program was conducted in collaboration with the DoS, Kolar. Sri. Anjaneya Reddy, Deputy Director, had given details on waste management in Sericulture.

Under the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman campaign, an awareness programme was organised in collaboration with RAWE students from the College of Sericulture, Chintamani – UAS Bengaluru.

The students showcased an impressive exhibition featuring sericulture and various components of the integrated farming system, aimed at educating and benefiting farmers.

The programme was graced by Dr. P. Venkataravana, Dean of the College, Dr. R. Naik, Head of the Sericulture Department, and other esteemed professors.

The event highlighted how sericulture serves as a sustainable source of long-term income for farming communities. The programme concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from farmers, students, and other stakeholders.

An awareness program was conducted in Kallikuppa Village, KGF Taluk, Kolar District, under the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman campaign, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Kolar District.
The program focused on pest and disease management and promoted organic sericulture practices to ensure sustainable and eco-friendly silk production. Farmers actively participated and gained valuable insights for improving their sericulture practices.
