Today, Hon’ble CEM Shri Pramod Boro inaugurated the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Kajalgaon, Chirang, in a special ceremony held ahead of the 76th Republic Day of India. The event was graced by MLA Shri Nirmal Kr. Brahma, EMs Shri Saikhong Basumatary, Shri Wilson Hasda, Shri Sajal Singh, Shri Ranjit Basumatary, DC Chirang Shri Jatin Bora, and CHD Shri Lankeshwar Owarie, along with other esteemed dignitaries.

This occasion marks a tribute to the Father of the Nation, whose principles of peace, non-violence, and harmony remain a guiding light for the region. The Urban Development Department reaffirms its commitment to promoting these values as we continue to work towards building a peaceful, smart, and green BTR.

Hon’ble Executive Member Shri Saikong Basumatary, in the presence of Hon’ble Executive Member Shri Wilson Hasda, inaugurated the “I ❤️ Kajalgaon” logo as part of the “Beautification of District Centre Complex of Chirang” initiative, led by the Department of Urban Development and Town & Country Planning, BTC.

The project also includes a vibrant vertical garden and energy-efficient solar street lighting, both designed to enhance the visual appeal and sustainability of Kajalgaon’s urban landscape.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Shri Lankeswar Owarie, CHD, Urban Development Department, along with senior officials from the district administration and other esteemed dignitaries.
