Today, 12-06-2026 on behalf of BONSU Kamrup Metro District Committee, a delegation led by President Mr. Dixson Basumatary , Secretary Mr. Armour Karzee , and Deputy Speaker Mr. Tushar Basumatary submitted a memorandum to the Officer-in-Charge of Hatigaon Police Station regarding the untimely death of Sushmita Basumatary on 10th June.
The OC, Shri Anjad Brahma, assured the delegation that the investigation would be conducted swiftly and impartially. He also expressed his concern and solidarity with the sentiments of the Bodo community.
We hope that the truth will prevail and justice will be delivered to Sushmita Basumatary and her family.

Today, 09/06/2026, under the initiative of the Chirang District Committee, Bodo National Students' Union (BONSU), the Mission Planting 9 Lakh Trees plantation drive was carried out at Raipur, Deosri under Runikhata Range, Chirang. The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Forest Department, BTC, Siknajhar Wildlife Conservation and Welfare Society, Bithorai Nature Society, and JFMC, Chirang.
Together, we continue our commitment towards building a greener and healthier Bodoland.

World Environment Day 2026 Observed Across
On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Bodo National Students' Union (BONSU) organized and participated in environmental awareness and plantation programmes across different parts of Bodoland.
The Central Committee observed the day at Digli, in collaboration with , the Tourism dept BTC and Forest Dept , The programme was graced by the presence of Former Assam Minister Rani Brahma as the chief Guest.
Simultaneously all district committee observed world Environment Day in their respective districts, reaffirming the collective commitment towards environmental conservation and a greener future.

A meaningful step towards a greener was taken today at Uttarkuchi through the successful completion of the Green Movement Plantation Programme.
With the spirit of unity and environmental responsibility, hundreds of saplings were planted under the mission of “9 Lakh Trees”. The programme became a symbol of collective effort, awareness and hope for a sustainable future.
The initiative was carried out by Bodo National Students Union (BONSU), Baksa District in collaboration with Department, Govt. of BTC under Batabari Range, Chowki Eco-Tourism & Conservation Society, Janaki NGO, Saipatri Foundation NGO and Geremsha NGO. The active participation of 64th BN added great strength and encouragement to the programme.
Every tree planted today is a promise for tomorrow.
