As the first and only Sümi vernacular daily goes online, I’m glad to launch the beginning of its new digital journey. Sümi Küküpütsa has been doing an outstanding job of not only delivering quality news and content but also in keeping the broader Sümi identity intact through sheer persistence for nearly a decade now.

Invest in nature, invest in the future.

With several parts of Nagaland facing flash floods and landslides becoming more common with each passing year, it is worth remembering that trees are natural barriers against floods, soil erosion, landslides and also help combat climate change. The stuff we all learnt in school.
When the air is filled with toxic chemicals, the waters submerge your houses and there is no breeze, then you’ll realise that money holds very little value.
Time to revisit the basics.

Inaugurated the newly constructed PHED Nagaland Executive Engineer Divisional Office at Niuland HQ today. I congratulate the department and the citizens of Niuland on this red-letter day. With modern amenities and facilities, this new structure will help facilitate faster and a more efficient and effective public delivery of services. Confident that the officials and staff will continue to render their duties with sincerity and integrity.

Addressed the culmination program of the country-wide state level Cooperative Week 2026, at Chümoukedima, organized by ARCS Chümoukedima.
As the curtains come down on a successful week-long campaign, my heartfelt gratitude goes to all the officials, staff and workers of Nagaland Cooperation for their innovation, unwavering dedication and commitment. Their meticulous attention to detail and taking the celebration to the people across Nagaland in the form of awareness programmes, cleanliness drives and competitions etc. are truly appreciated, which will, in the long-term, prove beneficial for the state's cooperative sector.
With a stronger resolve to achieve prosperity through cooperation, we move forward.
To mark the day, a tree plantation drive was also held; so, took the opportunity to plant a Nahor tree sapling which will bear witness as a symbol of our seamless cooperation and adhesion.

A pleasure to join the Hon'ble Governor of Nagaland, Shri Nand Kishore Yadav Ji, at the 'Celebration of Coops Day & Cooperative Week' commemorating five years of Ministry of Cooperation. Guided by Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji's vision of 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi' and under the able leadership of Hon'ble Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah Ji - India's first ever Cooperation Minister - the cooperative sector in the country has witnessed a major transformation through optimization, modernization and digitization as a result of which transparency and accountability are being ensured with benefits percolating down to every nook and corner of the country.
In Nagaland, the Dept. Of Cooperation has been at the forefront of initiating reforms and empowering cooperatives so that income enhancement, employment generation, inclusive development and a sustainable economy are realized. In the grand scheme of things, the most assuring aspect is perhaps the financial independence of our womenfolk, especially at the rural level, whose lives have been transformed as a result of which families are also positively impacted- a glowing example of prosperity through cooperation.
As the country marches towards Viksit Bharat, the cooperative sector is going to be one of the most important components of its success. Let us all reaffirm our collective commitment towards the same.
On the occasion, the Hon'ble Governor also virtually inaugurated four offices of model cooperative societies whose success stories serve as an inspiration to the rest, and also gave away awards to the Essay Competition Winners held for school students.
