A visit to St. Clare School for deaf is always a heartwarming experience, and today was no exception. As the new academic year begins, we made our annual visit to meet the students—welcoming the new admissions while reconnecting with our all-time favourites.

There is something truly special about being greeted by children who come running towards you with bright smiles and warm hugs. Those moments of pure affection and joy make every visit memorable.

Joining us today was our volunteer, Gayatri, who was fascinated by the school and had many questions about how deaf children learn, communicate, and navigate their daily lives. It was a wonderful opportunity to share insights and learn together.
The other junior volunteer Arya decided to pbserve silently and help us with some pics.
All in all, it was a beautiful day filled with laughter, learning, and meaningful connections—one that reminded us once again why these visits are so close to our hearts.

During our bag distribution drive, while we were speaking about the work of Pink Shield, a group of boys approached us rather hesitantly and asked, “Ma’am, would you sponsor our football trophies?”

On speaking to them, we learned that they were organizing a football tournament with 16 participating teams on May 30, but did not have the funds to arrange the trophies. In a time when so many youngsters are vulnerable to distractions like drugs and alcohol, here were young boys choosing to invest their energy in sports, teamwork, and something positive for their community.

We felt they deserved encouragement. So we happily came forward to sponsor the trophies, and we truly hope they have a fantastic tournament and a memorable game on the 30th of May.

A beautiful day at Valiyathamparambu, Nayarambalam as Team Pink Shield distributed 50 school bags to children from fishermen’s families — children and families who truly need support and encouragement.

This marks our third consecutive year of bag distribution in this region, and what makes us happiest is not just the distribution itself, but the bond we are slowly building with the community and the people here.

A heartfelt thank you to Smikesh and Vibin for coordinating everything behind the scenes, and especially to Vibin for sharing stories about the place, the struggles, and the realities of life there — stories many of us living in the city may never otherwise hear.

Special thanks to our dear friend Sushma and her daughter Kuku and Arya Vineed for joining hands with us today. For Arya and Kuku a first time experience in volunteering with Pink Shield . It is important for youngsters to see different realities, to understand empathy, gratitude, and the value of standing beside those who may not have the same privileges. These experiences shape kinder hearts and broader perspectives.
Glad we can offer these chances to the kids. A day we spent for all of us.
