The 11th India International Science Festival (IISF-2025) jointly organised by the scientific ministries & departments of the Govt of India, will be hosted at Chandigarh, from 6 to 9 December 2025.

As part of the countdown activities, a cycle rally was organized at the PU campus, which was flagged off by Dr. M. Ravichandran (Secretary, MoES) along with Panjab University Vice-Chancellor and other dignitaries.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from scientists, faculty members, and hundreds of students from various schools and colleges.

The 11th Edition of the India International Science Festival (IISF-2025) organized by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, jointly with the science ministries & depts of the Govt of India (Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi, India, CSIR NISCPR-Oғғɪᴄɪᴀʟ Pᴀɢᴇ, DAE and ISRO - Indian Space Research Organisation) and Vibha, will be held in Chandigarh from December 06-09, 2025.

The upcoming IISF-2025, from December 06-09, 2025, aims to inspire young minds, celebrate India’s scientific spirit, and showcase the nation’s progress toward a Viksit Bharat, aligned with the vision of Hon’ble PM of India Shri Narendra Modi.

The inaugural Curtain Raiser of the 11th Edition of IISF-2025 was held in New Delhi where Hon’ble Minister Dr Jitendra Singh graced the occasion.

Led by the Hon’ble Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Curtain Raiser Events of IISF 2025 are being held across the country at various institutions to fuel enthusiasm for the biggest science celebration of India.

Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), graced the IISF Curtain Raiser occasion held in Chandigarh at Panjab University and underlined the significance of IISF as a unique platform to bring science closer to society, highlighting MoES’s initiatives in innovation, research, and regional development, towards the goal of “Vigyan Se Samruddhi: For Aatmanirbhar Bharat”.

The IISF-2025, organized by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, along with GoIs scientific ministries (CSIR, DST, DBT, DAE and DoS) and VIBHA, is scheduled from December 6–9, 2025. The mass citizen engagement festival aims to celebrate innovation and strengthen India’s scientific ecosystem for Viksit Bharat. A Curtain Raiser event for the 11th India International Science Festival (IISF-2025) was held at Chandigarh, Panjab University campus.

Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, MoES, highlighted the vital role of science and technology in shaping a sustainable future and encouraged youth participation in scientific pursuits. The event witnessed participation from students, academicians, and was telecasted live.

This year’s theme, “Vigyan Se Samruddhi: For Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” reflects India’s commitment to advancing science, research, and innovation as pillars of national growth and self-reliance.

IISF 2025, organized by the Ministry of Earth Sciences in collaboration with GoIs scientific ministries & departments, and VIBHA will bring together scientists, researchers, students, industry, and innovators to celebrate and showcase India’s scientific capabilities.

The 11th edition of the festival will be held in Chandigarh from 6–9 December 2025.

CMLRE, Cochin under the Ministry of Earth Sciences,Govt. of India has been organizing , coordinating and promoting ocean development activities in the country which inter-Alia include mapping of the living resources, preparing inventory of commercially exploitable living marine resources, their optimum utilization through ecosystem management and R&D in basic Sciences on Marine Living Resources and Ecology.
