A comprehensive awareness session on Financial Literacy and Mission YUVA was organized at Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar under the guidance of the college administration. The programme was conducted by Mr. Sandeep Gupta, who is a certified trainer with the National Centre for Financial Education and an experienced financial professional.

During the session, Mr. Gupta highlighted the importance of financial awareness among students and explained various aspects of money management, savings, budgeting, digital banking, investment planning, and protection from financial frauds. He encouraged students to adopt responsible financial habits from an early stage to ensure a secure and independent future.

The speaker also delivered an informative presentation on Mission YUVA, focusing on youth empowerment, self-employment opportunities, entrepreneurship development, and skill enhancement initiatives introduced for the welfare of young people. Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar Successfully Conducts Sports Week under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan
Kishtwar, May 21:
Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar successfully organized a week-long Sports Event under the banner of “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” from 14-05-2026 to 21-05-2026 at Playground Kishtwar with great enthusiasm and active participation of students and staff members.
The Sports Week was organized with the objective of promoting physical fitness, team spirit, discipline, and awareness among youth regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse. The programme highlighted the message of “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Sports,” in line with the vision of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, which aims to create a drug-free and healthy society by engaging youth in constructive and positive activities.
The event was inaugurated by the Incharge of the Institution, Er. Arun Singh, who formally started the programme with a brief awareness speech highlighting the objectives and importance of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and encouraging students to stay away from drugs and actively participate in sports and other positive activities. Mr. Haroon Rashid, Lecturer, Civil Engineering, was nominated as Incharge Sports for coordination and smooth conduct of the event, while Mr. Suhail Ahmed Qazi assisted in organizing the programme successfully.
A total of eight teams participated enthusiastically in the tournament, which was conducted in two league pools, namely Pool-A and Pool-B. The matches witnessed great sportsmanship, discipline, and excitement among the participants. Three matches were conducted daily as per the schedule communicated by the Incharge Sports.
The final match of the tournament was played between 6th Semester Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering teams. After an exciting and competitive match, the Mechanical Engineering Department emerged as the winner of the tournament, while the 6th Semester Civil Engineering team secured the runner-up position.
During the concluding ceremony, trophies were distributed among the winning and runner-up teams. Individual awards including “Man of the Match” and “Man of the Series” were also presented to deserving players in recognition of their outstanding performance during the tournament.
All staff members and officials including Mr. Anuj Kumar, Mr. Dheeraj Shan, Mr. Yasir Iqbal, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Ms. Suman Sen, Ms. Karishma Parihar, Mr. Rajesh Singh, Mr. Haroon Rashid, Ms. Syed Rubaia, Mr. Vikas Sharma, Mr. Suhail Qazi, Mr. Manmohan Singh, Mr. Ashfaq Hussain, Ms. Umara Naz, Ms. Nowreen Anjum, Mr. Suhaib Ahmed, Mr. Wasim Ahmed, Mr. Rohit Kumar, Mr. Maroof Ahmed, Mr. Salim Parvez, Mr. Rajinder Kumar and Mr. Imtiaz Ali extended full cooperation and enthusiasm during the event and contributed significantly towards its smooth and successful conduct.
The event was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Er. Parvez Ahmed Bhat, Principal, whose encouragement and support played a vital role in the successful organization and smooth conduct of the programme.
The programme finally concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants, staff members, organizers, and students for their active cooperation and contribution in making the Sports Week a grand success under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

A grand farewell party was organized by the junior students of Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar to bid a heartfelt farewell to the outgoing batch of 2023–2026. The event was celebrated with great enthusiasm, joy, and emotional moments, making it a memorable occasion for both students and faculty members.

The programme witnessed active participation from students and teachers, who came together to make the celebration vibrant and successful. The event began with a warm welcome of the senior students and respected faculty members, followed by a series of entertaining and cultural performances.
