IIT Kharagpur's Prof. Joy Sen, of the Center of Excellence for Indian Knowledge Systems, has been chosen to serve on the advisory committee for all research and art installations in the New Parliament Building Complex, New Delhi, which has been constituted by Shri G. Kishan Reddy, the government of India's honourable minister of culture. In addition, Prof. Sen has been asked by Shri Govind Mohanji, Secretary of the Ministry, to direct the installation operations in accordance with the matrix of Indian Knowledge Systems domains developed by the Centre of Excellence for Indian Knowledge Systems at IIT Kharagpur.
Based on the requirements of the IKS Center of IIT Kharagpur, the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has chosen to award two distinguished projects for the interior design of the New Parliament Building Complex. Additionally, on July 7–9, 2022, in Varanasi, he was invited to preside over a Varanasi Shiksha Sammelan session held by the Prime Minister's Office and UGC.
Prof. Sen has extensive experience dealing with various environmental design programmes and specialises in community and regional planning analysis and programming and architecture planning connected to historical studies and documentation.
Currently, he is the principal investigator for comprehensive consultancy and detailed engineering services for the development of (a) the R & R Colony for the Mahanadi Coalfields, Ministry of Coal, GoI; (b) the DVC R & R Services at TUBED Village, Latehar District, Jharkhand, Damodar Valley Corporation; (c) the design for the St. Xavier's University Campus, New Town and (d) Town Hall Museum and Resource Centre for the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
