All Party Hills Leaders Conference, Fan Langpher (APHLC Fan Langpher) Condemns Heinous Crime and Demands Swift Justice for Late Sabina Engtipi
The All Party Hills Leaders Conference, Fan Langpher (APHLC Fan Langpher) expresses its profound shock, grief, and outrage at the brutal murder of Late Sabina Engtipi of Longku. She had been missing since 13 August, and her body was tragically discovered at 5:30 AM on 14 August at Sokpuru Village under deeply disturbing and questionable circumstances.
This horrendous and inhuman act has devastated the victim’s family and shaken the conscience of our community. The APHLC Fan Langpher condemns this barbarity in the strongest possible terms and places the following urgent demands before the authorities:
Immediate arrest and prosecution of all perpetrators involved in the crime.
Fast-track trial under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and other applicable criminal laws.
Strictest punishment permissible under law, including capital punishment where appropriate, to ensure justice and deterrence.
Comprehensive victim support measures for the bereaved family, including financial assistance, psychological counseling, and, if required, security arrangements.
As an organisation devoted to safeguarding the dignity, safety, and values of our people, APHLC Fan Langpher issues the following appeals:
To law enforcement authorities: act with utmost urgency, impartiality, and sincerity in the investigation.
To the judiciary: ensure a fair, speedy, and exemplary trial so that justice is not delayed or denied.
To the Government of Assam, DHAC, and KAAC: strengthen laws, improve policing, and adopt stronger measures for women’s safety, especially in rural and vulnerable areas.
Justice delayed is justice denied. APHLC Fan Langpher reaffirms it will continue to raise its voice relentlessly until the perpetrators are brought to justice and every woman in our community can live with safety and dignity.
Our heartfelt prayers, solida
