The CPIM works to establish a socialist society in India, free from class exploitation and social oppression. The Party has adopted the principles of Marxism-Leninism as the guide to action to attain the objective of socialism and to advance towards the ultimate goal of communism. ratic revolution will open the way for the advance of socialism and an exploitation-free society. Such a revolution to emancipate the Indian people has to be led by the working class in alliance with the peasantry. In order to achieve this goal, the Communist Party as the vanguard of the working class has to lead militant struggles against imperialism, monopoly capitalism, and landlordism. By concretely applying the principles of Marxism-Leninism to the conditions prevailing in our country, the Party has to conduct prolonged struggles on all fronts – political, ideological, economic, social, and cultural – till victory is attained. The Party is at the forefront of the fight against communalism in the country, in defense of the minorities who are being hounded by the Sangh Parivar. The Party stands for women's liberation, democratic decentralization, and the environment's protection. The Party tries to implement alternative policies wherever it leads state government and local governments, within the constraints of the capitalist system prevailing in the country. Kerala created history by electing the Communist Party to power in 1957. The new direction given by that government laid the foundation for the renowned 'Kerala Model'. The government led by EMS Namboodiripad showed the way to developing the understanding of how the Communist Party should work in the parliamentary system in a capitalist country, clarifying and defining the role of the Party which participates in government where it has a popular mandate while continuing to keep the Party's primary focus on developing mass movements and struggles of the working people. വർഗ ചൂഷണത്തിൽ നിന്നും സാമൂഹിക അടിച്ചമർത്തലിൽ നിന്നും മുക്തമായ ഒരു സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് സമൂഹം ഇന്ത്യയിൽ സ്ഥാപിക്കാനാണ് സി പി ഐ എം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത്.
സോഷ്യലിസത്തിന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യം നേടുന്നതിനും കമ്മ്യൂണിസത്തിന്റെ ആത്യന്തിക ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലേക്ക് മുന്നേറുന്നതിനുമുള്ള പ്രവർത്തനത്തിലേക്കുള്ള വഴികാട്ടിയായി പാർട്ടി മാർക്സിസം-ലെനിനിസത്തിന്റെ തത്വങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിച്ചു.
ജനകീയ ജനാധിപത്യം സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള വിപ്ലവകരമായ പരിപാടി ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് മുന്നിൽ CPIM സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ഒരു ജനകീയ ജനാധിപത്യ വിപ്ലവം സോഷ്യലിസത്തിന്റെ മുന്നേറ്റത്തിനും ചൂഷണ രഹിത സമൂഹത്തിനും വഴി തുറക്കും. ഇന്ത്യൻ ജനതയെ വിമോചിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള അത്തരമൊരു വിപ്ലവം കർഷകരുമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടിൽ തൊഴിലാളിവർഗം നയിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ഈ ലക്ഷ്യം കൈവരിക്കുന്നതിന്, സാമ്രാജ്യത്വത്തിനും കുത്തക മുതലാളിത്തത്തിനും ഭൂപ്രഭുത്വത്തിനും എതിരായ സമരമുഖമായ സമരങ്ങൾക്ക് തൊഴിലാളിവർഗത്തിന്റെ മുൻനിര കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടി നേതൃത്വം നൽകേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. മാർക്സിസം-ലെനിനിസത്തിന്റെ തത്ത്വങ്ങൾ നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്ത് നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ കൃത്യമായി പ്രയോഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, വിജയം കൈവരിക്കുന്നത് വരെ പാർട്ടിക്ക് രാഷ്ട്രീയവും പ്രത്യയശാസ്ത്രപരവും സാമ്പത്തികവും സാമൂഹികവും സാംസ്കാരികവുമായ എല്ലാ മേഖലകളിലും നീണ്ട പോരാട്ടങ്ങൾ നടത്തേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.
രാജ്യത്ത് വർഗീയതയ്ക്കെതിരായ പോരാട്ടത്തിൽ, സംഘപരിവാർ വേട്ടയാടുന്ന ന്യൂനപക്ഷങ്ങളെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിൽ പാർട്ടി മുൻനിരയിലാണ്. സ്ത്രീ വിമോചനത്തിനും ജനാധിപത്യ വികേന്ദ്രീകരണത്തിനും പരിസ്ഥിതി സംരക്ഷണത്തിനും വേണ്ടിയാണ് പാർട്ടി നിലകൊള്ളുന്നത്.
രാജ്യത്ത് നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന മുതലാളിത്ത വ്യവസ്ഥയുടെ നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളിൽ സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരിനെയും പ്രാദേശിക സർക്കാരുകളെയും നയിക്കുന്നിടത്തെല്ലാം ബദൽ നയങ്ങൾ നടപ്പിലാക്കാൻ പാർട്ടി ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു. 1957-ൽ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടിയെ അധികാരത്തിലെത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് കേരളം ചരിത്രം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു. ആ സർക്കാർ നൽകിയ പുതിയ ദിശ വിഖ്യാതമായ 'കേരള മോഡലിന്' അടിത്തറയിട്ടു. മുതലാളിത്ത രാജ്യത്ത് പാർലമെന്ററി സമ്പ്രദായത്തിൽ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടി എങ്ങനെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കണം എന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അവബോധം വളർത്തിയെടുക്കാനുള്ള വഴി ഇഎംഎസ് നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാടിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള സർക്കാർ കാണിച്ചുതന്നു. അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്ന ജനങ്ങളുടെ ബഹുജന പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളും സമരങ്ങളും വികസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിലാണ് പാർട്ടിയുടെ പ്രാഥമിക ശ്രദ്ധ നിലനിർത്തുക.)
