Swachhata Awareness Campaign at Kanchrapara Railway Station 🚆🧹

Kanchrapara Workshop, Eastern Railway, in association with Scouts & Guides and Civil Defence, organized a Swachhata Awareness Campaign on 16th April 2026.

Around 110 volunteers actively participated, spreading awareness on cleanliness, proper waste disposal, and maintaining hygiene at stations and inside coaches.

The campaign was led by Shri Subhash Chandra, CWM/KPA, who interacted with passengers and motivated all to adopt Swachhata as a shared responsibility.

Together, we move towards a cleaner and greener railway environment. 🌿

🏆 Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar (VRSP) 2025 🏆

On the prestigious occasion of Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2025, the General Manager, Eastern Railway presented the “Best Workshop Shield” and “Best Workshop Personnel Department Shield” to Eastern Railway Workshop, Kanchrapara, in the esteemed presence of AGM/ER, SDGM/ER, and other senior officials at B.C. Roy Auditorium, Sealdah.

The Bhumi Pujan ceremony for the new campus of Eastern Railway High School, Kanchrapara was held on 11.03.2026, marking the beginning of an important development for the educational infrastructure of the area.

The ceremony was graciously performed by Hon’ble Chief Works Manager, E.Rly./Kanchrapara, Shri Subhash Chandra, in the august presence of Dy. CPO/KPA Shri S.K. Chattopadhyay, Dy. CME(C) Shri Raja Paswan, ATE Shri Rohit Ranjan, along with other officers and staff members of the workshop.

This new campus will play a vital role in strengthening educational facilities and nurturing future generations. 🌱📚

Kanchrapara Workshop, Eastern Railway celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 under the hashtag with a series of programmes organised to honour the contributions of women employees.
The programme commenced at the Officers’ Club, Kanchrapara Workshop, in the presence of Sri Subhash Chandra, Chief Works Manager/KPA, Smt. Poonam Chandra, President/ERWWO/KPA along with members of ERWWO, Sri S.K. Chattopadhyay, Dy. Chief Personnel Officer/KPA, and other officers, staff and lady awardees.
Cultural performances including singing, dancing, recitation and drama were presented on the occasion, followed by the felicitation of 26 outstanding lady employees for their dedication and contribution to the organisation.
A cake-cutting ceremony was also held in the presence of Sri Subhash Chandra, CWM/KPA, Sri S.K. Chattopadhyay, Dy.CPO/KPA, Smt. Piyuli Chatterjee, Divisional Medical Officer/Kanchrapara Hospital, representatives of the Cyber Crime Branch from Bizpur Police Station and lady employees of the Workshop.
Awareness seminars on cybercrime and online safety by the Cyber Crime team of Bizpur Police Station and on women’s health and hygiene by Smt. Piyuli Chatterjee, DMO/Kanchrapara Hospital were also conducted.
Over 250 lady employees of Kanchrapara Workshop attended the seminars, making the programme a grand success.

The Personnel Department of Kanchrapara Workshop celebrated Basant Utsav on 2nd March 2026 in front of the CWM Office with great enthusiasm and festive spirit. Officers and staff members participated actively, dressed in traditional attire reflecting the vibrant colours of spring.
The programme featured various cultural activities that beautifully highlighted the essence of Basant Utsav, creating a joyful and harmonious atmosphere. The celebration promoted unity, cultural values, and positive interaction among employees.
The event was inaugurated by Sri Subhash Chandra, Chief Works Manager/Kanchrapara, and the occasion was further graced by him. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Deputy Chief Personnel Officer, Sri S. K. Chattopadhyay, on a cheerful note, leaving everyone refreshed and motivated.

The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at the Workshop Stadium, Eastern Railway, Kanchrapara. The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri Subhash Chandra, Chief Works Manager, Kanchrapara Workshop, along with the President, ERWWO, Kanchrapara, Smt. Poonam Chandra, officers, dignitaries, and members of ERWWO.
The celebration featured an inspiring address by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, followed by an impressive March Past by the RPF, Civil Defence, and Bharat Scouts & Guides contingents. A vibrant cultural programme was presented by the students of Eastern Railway High School and the members of Bharat Scouts & Guides, Kanchrapara District Association.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri S. K. Chattopadhyay, Deputy Chief Personnel Officer, Kanchrapara.

On 14.01.2026, Chief Electrical Traction Engineer/HQ/ER, Smt. Neelam Chandra, visited Kanchrapara Workshop for inspection.
Thereafter, a meeting was held in the presence of Smt. Neelam Chandra, CETE/HQ/ER, and Sri Subhash Chandra, CWM/KPA, which was attended by the concerned officers and SSEs.

After the meeting, Smt. Neelam Chandra and Sri Subhash Chandra jointly unveiled the Calendar of Kanchrapara Workshop in the presence of officers and staff, marking the formal release of the calendar for the year 2026.

The Personnel Department of Eastern Railway Workshop, Kanchrapara has launched the Facilities Information Calendar for the year 2026, a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing awareness, accessibility, and effective utilisation of welfare and support facilities available to railway employees.

The calendar has been released under the guidance of the Principal Chief Personnel Officer/ER and the Chief Works Manager, Eastern Railway, Kanchrapara. This initiative reflects Eastern Railway’s continued commitment towards employee welfare, institutional transparency, and improved service delivery across its production units.

The Facilities Information Calendar 2026 will be made available across all departments of Kanchrapara Workshop and on the Official Kanchrapara Workshop website, enabling employees to conveniently refer to it throughout the year for guidance on various welfare and personnel-related services.
