Being the change I always wanted to see

During this pandemic, we started helping people with protective gears, sanitary needs, ration, cooked food, by spraying disinfectant and everything which was possible. Soon I realised that providing essentials to the people is not the only answer. To win this war, we need to educate them about the severity of the situation after which we started going to chawls & buildings and conducted small sess

ions to educate them. It was a tremendous experience and people told me that this needs to be taught to everyone. So I started going to every possible corner of our vicinity to educate more and more people. I posted a video on social media about what precautions are needed to be taken to be safe, and surprisingly, it received over 100k views. Throughout this pandemic we tried the best we could, but we gradually started falling short of funds. But money was never the problem as we received help from many NGOs, individuals, politicians, activists and other good samaritans. It was possible due to the collective effort of everyone who supported us. I won't call this pandemic a beautiful journey and would pray that it ends quickly but as a human, it taught me so many things. Mentally, physically & emotionally it was tiring & tough for us but when the purpose was to help people, everything seemed worth fighting for.
