On 01.9.2026, after receiving information from local people, a team of Kalimpong police apprehended 2 men namely
1. A***n Bhujel @ Prashant @ Bhagay resident of Below BT College, Manjali House, Chandraloke and,
2. ⁠Sanjeet Lama @ Sandi resident of 8.5th Mile, LB Road, Near Kalimandir and
3. ⁠1 CCL (minor) girl,

near 8.5th mile on suspicion of drug peddling.
During search 21 puriyas of suspected brown sugar and Nitrazepam tablets were recovered from their possession which they were going to sell further.
A scooty bearing no. WB 79 9815 was also seized.

All three were taken under custody and will be forwarded to concerned Courts and further investigation is continuing.

It has been found that almost all drug users eventually end up peddling drugs too.

Today at 11.05 hrs one incident of theft was reported from a house at Goskhan area in Kalimpong Town.
A case was registered a investigation started immediately. On basis of local information 2 suspects were identified and during examination recovered the entire loot and arrested 02 accused persons namely Justin Lepcha and his accomplice both of Ghoshkhan, ps+dist- Kalimpong.

They will be produced before Ld. Court tomorrow.

He is 63 years old.
He started his running journey with the Kalimpong Police Freedom run at Jaldhaka.
On 28.8.2026 he successfully completed the 77 KM Ultra Marathon – Kunzum La Challenge at the Surya Spiti Marathon, 2026.
He is actively promoting runners of Jaldhaka, Kalimpong.

Based on source information, on 24.08.2026 kalimpong police intercepted one Wagon R vehicle bearing Regd No-WB 78 2911 beside SH-12 near Teesta CP and during search recovered and seized intermediate quantity of Tramadol capsules from the joint possession of Driver Siddhu Gurung of Peshok Garlang and other occupants Rikesh Sewa of 11th mile Lapchu, Sahil Tamang of Peshok Chapleti and Sajan Rai of Peshok Dak Bangla.
They were arrested and will be produced before Ld. court today.

Acting on source information Kalimpong police intercepted a vehicle at Birik Dara and during search found intermediate quantity of suspected brown sugar from 2 accused
(i) Raju Chettri @ Ratay and
(ii) Rupen Pradhan

Both of Rangpo, Kalimpong.

A case has been registered against them under proper sections of law and have been put under arrest.
They will be produced before the Ld. court tomorrow.
