A District-Level Awareness Programme on Artificial Insemination (AI) and allied activities was organised by the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Jorhat, on 3rd September 2026 at 65 no GP Conference Hall, Baghchung.

The programme was graced by Sjt. Rupjyoti Kurmi, Hon’ble MLA MARIANI LAC, Sjt. Surajit Saikia, Chairman Jorhat Zilla Parishad,Dr. Bandana Dutta Baruah, Joint Director, upper Assam zone ,Dr. Bhupen Das, District Veterinary Officer (DVO), Jorhat,Dr. Ripunjoy Chakravarty, SDVO, Jorhat; Dr. Surajit Bhuyan, APDO, Jorhat; Dr. Hitesh Das, RAIO Jorhat ,Dr. Boby Borthakur FDO,Jorhat, Dr. Rajib Duwarah PO(CRASH) Baghchung alongwith VO/BVO, departmental field staff, MAITRIs, Gopal Mitras, and Pashu Sakhis of Jorhat District.

The programme witnessed an attendance of 140 participants including progressive livestock farmers and focused on the benefits of AI, genetic improvement of cattle, enhanced milk production, access to superior germplasm, and adoption of scientific breeding practices for sustainable livestock development under RGM.

In a strong demonstration of community outreach, the College of Veterinary Science (CVSc), Khanapara, in active collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry, Jorhat, organised a series of emergency flood relief camps along with cattle feed distribution across the worst-affected areas of the Jorhat district .

We were deeply honored to have Dr. Niranjan Kalita, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor (AVFU), personally lead the CVSc Khanapara team on the ground, guiding relief efforts where help was needed most.

Heartfelt thanks to the outstanding CVSc Khanapara team members whose relentless dedication, expertise, and hard work ensured essential veterinary aid reached vulnerable livestock.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Bhupen Das (DVO, Jorhat ) and Dr. Ripunjoy Chakraborty (SDVO, Jorhat ) for their invaluable support and presence throughout today’s joint operation.

আজিও আমাৰ দলে বানত অহা বিপদৰ সময়ত পশুখাদ্য বিতৰণ আৰু থলীতে চিকিৎসা প্ৰদানেৰে বান পীড়িতৰ বাবে পশু স্বাস্থ্য শিৱিৰ অব্যাহত ৰাখিছে। তাৰেই কিছু দৃশ্য।

বানপানী পৰৱৰ্তী সাহায্য অভিযান | পশুপালন আৰু পশু চিকিৎসা বিভাগ, যোৰহাট

শেহতীয়া বানপানীৰ পিছত স্থানীয় কৃষকসকলক সহায় কৰা আৰু পশুধনৰ সুৰক্ষা নিশ্চিত কৰাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে, যোৰহাটৰ পশুপালন আৰু পশু চিকিৎসা বিভাগে টীয়ক, তিতাবৰ, মৰিয়নি আৰু যোৰহাট পশ্চিমৰ বিভিন্ন গাঁৱত বিস্তৃত পশু স্বাস্থ্য শিৱিৰৰ আয়োজন কৰে।

মুখ্য বিষয়সমূহ:

• ঘৰে ঘৰে পশু চিকিৎসা সেৱা: অতিমাত্ৰা প্ৰভাৱিত অঞ্চলসমূহত সংকটাপন্ন পশুধনৰ সময়মতে যত্ন ল’বলৈ ঘৰে ঘৰে গৈ চিকিৎসা প্ৰদানৰ এক ব্যতিক্ৰমী আৰু সক্ৰিয় পদক্ষেপ গ্ৰহণ কৰা হয়।

• গো-খাদ্য বিতৰণ: বানৰ পিছত দেখা দিয়া গো-খাদ্যৰ নাটনি দূৰ কৰাৰ বাবে, টীয়ক আৰু মৰিয়নি সমষ্টিৰ অন্তৰ্গত অঞ্চলসমূহত সাহায্য স্বৰূপে গো-খাদ্য বিতৰণ কৰা হয়।

জিলাখনত পশুধনৰ স্বাস্থ্য নিয়মিতভাৱে নিৰীক্ষণ কৰাৰ লগতে বান-পুনৰুদ্ধাৰ সাহায্য প্ৰক্ৰিয়াক বিভাগে অগ্ৰাধিকাৰ দি আহিছে।

We were honoured to welcome Shri Krishnendu Paul , Hon’ble Minister, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Assam, during his visit to Jorhat District today.

The Hon’ble Minister visited the District Veterinary Office, Jorhat and reviewed the functioning of the department. A productive interaction was held in the presence of Dr. Ripunjoy Chakravarty , District Veterinary Officer, Jorhat, focusing on strengthening animal health services and developmental initiatives in the district.
