SKM Party Set to Announce Candidates for Soreng-Chakung and Namchi-Singithang Soon
The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party held its first preliminary meeting of the Parliamentary Board for the upcoming Bye-Elections, chaired by Chairman Kunga Nima Lepcha in Deorali, Gangtok. The meeting was attended by prominent board members, including Sonam Lama, Arun Kumar Upreti, Bhoj Raj Rai, and Nar Bahadur Dahal (Chettri).
The board expressed gratitude to Party President Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) for entrusting them with this significant responsibility. The meeting began with a traditional gesture of respect, as members offered Khadas to the chairman.
Key topics discussed included potential candidates for the Bye-Elections in the Soreng-Chakung and Namchi-Singhithang Assembly constituencies. The committee also formulated strategies for the party’s campaign, incorporating suggestions from grassroots party workers.
The Parliamentary Board plans to submit its report to the Party President soon, with official candidates expected to be announced shortly. The committee has urged all party workers to remain patient until the names are revealed and to rally behind the party's decisions.
