Mother's Day Celebrations at DAV Centenary Public School, Jind: Mothers Showcase Their Talents—From Singing and Dancing to Ramp Walks
On the occasion of Mother's Day, held today—May 9, 2026—special activities were organized for mothers at DAV Public School, Jind. The school management arranged various competitions to make this day a truly memorable one. In the dance competition, mothers performed alongside their children to everything from classic film songs to traditional Haryanvi folk tunes, garnering thunderous applause.
In the "Swar Kokila" (Melodious Voice) competition, mothers sang beautiful songs in melodious voices, captivating the hearts of everyone present. The "Chef" competition showcased the "Magic of Mom's Hands," as mothers won over the judges by preparing an array of delicacies including sandwiches, *bhel puri*, cucumber boats, fruit chaat, mojitos, and cakes. In the unique "Creative Mom, Creative Kids" event, mothers unleashed their creativity, adding vibrant colors to the festivities. Principal Dr. Neeraj Kumar remarked, "The home is the first school for creativity, and the mother is the first teacher. Today, we have celebrated this very bond."
In the "Writing Wizard" competition, mothers demonstrated their beautiful penmanship.
Adding a touch of glamour to the proceedings, the "Super Mom Ramp Walk" proved to be the most captivating segment of the program; mothers walked the ramp dressed in a stunning mix of traditional and Western attire. The children provided their mothers with unwavering support during the ramp walk, and every pair that took the stage was welcomed with resounding applause. As part of the Mother's Day celebrations, the school also launched an "Eco-Friendly Mom" initiative. Mothers participated in a tree-plantation drive at a local city park, planting saplings of Neem, Tulsi, Alstonia, and other species alongside their children, while taking a pledge to protect the environment and take responsibility for nurturing the newly planted trees. The Principal stated, "A green earth is the greatest gift we can give to our children."
Principal Dr. Neeraj Kumar reiterated, "A mother is a child's first teacher." "Today, we have undertaken this initiative to make mothers feel special."
At the conclusion of the program, the "Super Moms" who secured the first, second, and third positions in various competitions were honored with prizes. More than a hundred mothers participated in the event.
In the 'Swar Kokila' (Melodious Voice) competition, Mrs. Reena, Mrs. Monica, and Mrs. Kavita excelled;
in 'Writing Wizard,' Mrs. Rasna, Mrs. Rajdulari, Mrs. Jyoti Dalal, Mrs. Jyoti Rohilla, and Mrs. Jyoti Yadav demonstrated their prowess;
in 'Best Dancer,' Mrs. Anubhuti, Mrs. Priya, and Mrs. Pinky showcased their talent;
in the 'Master Chef' competition, Mrs. Meenal, Mrs. Nidhi, Mrs. Neeru Gupta, Mrs. Sangeeta, Mrs. Sujata Kumari, Mrs. Bindu, Mrs. Rita Rani, and Mrs. Ekta Devi displayed their culinary skills;
in 'Creative Moms,' Mrs. Savita, Mrs. Ramanpreet, Mrs. Meena, and Mrs. Reena exhibited their creativity;
and in the 'Ramp Walk,' Mrs. Ekta, Mrs. Ritu, Mrs. Komal, Mrs. Mamta, and Mrs. Preeti, as well as Mrs. Sunaina in the 'Yoga' category, displayed extraordinary talent.
Everyone present appreciated the efforts of the participants and thoroughly enjoyed the program. The school Principal congratulated all the winners and thanked all the mothers for their enthusiastic participation. The program concluded successfully, leaving behind a message of love, respect, and happiness.
