A significant step towards data-driven governance and evidence-based policymaking in Jammu & Kashmir.
As part of its "NITI for States" initiative, NITI Aayog has launched a pilot in Kulgam District to strengthen governance through data-driven decision-making and improved state support mechanisms.
The workshop was chaired by Shri Shahzad Alam, Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, along with Dr. Amrit Pal Kaur from NITI Aayog and Utkarsh Srivastava (Assistant Section Officer), bringing together key stakeholders to deliberate on building a more responsive, accountable, and technology-enabled governance ecosystem.
The sessions highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in modern governance and development planning, showcasing AI-based tools developed by NITI Aayog to support evidence-based decision-making and citizen-centric service delivery.
Officials from CITaG, Dr. Sandeep Ananthanarayanan (CEO, CITaG), Amir Wani, Tanveer Dar, Iqra Farooq, and Dr. Sushma Kaushal, were privileged to participate in this landmark event, which marks a significant step towards strengthening data-driven governance and collaborative policymaking in Jammu & Kashmir.
During the event, the CITaG Team had the opportunity to meet Shri Shahzad Alam and discuss the transformative opportunities this initiative (NITI TARA) can create for the Union Territory through innovation and institutional collaboration.
