SGSD INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL DOMANA OPRGANIZED A FRIENDLY HOCKEY MATCH ON VEER BAL DIWAS

December 26 is observed as Veer Baal Diwas, as a mark of respect and honor for the sacrifices made by Chhote Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. On this day, in 1705, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji laid down their lives at a tender age of 9 and 7 years to protect the human values and integrity of Sikh Community and whole of India.

To commemorate the sacrifices and valour of Chhote Sahebzadas, SGSD International School Domana organized a friendly Hockey Match between Bhargva Hockey Club and Jammu United Hockey Club. The purpose of this match was to extend a greater sporting exposure, to foster a culture of sports and a spirit of bonding and camaraderie, to motivate the studentsool and to excel in sports.

Mr Rajeev Sharma, Member J&K Sports Council was the esteemed Chief Guest of the day. The occasion was further graced by distinguished Guest of Honour Mr JP Singh, Former IGP J&K Police. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Mr Balwinder Singh, RTI Activists and Vice President of DGPC Jammu, Mr Manjeet Singh, Administrator SGSD International School, Sardar Amarjeet Singh, Member of Management and Sh. Bal Krishan Rain, Sarpach of the area.

The School Principal Ms Sonia Pawar extended a formal welcome to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honours and dignitaries present on the occasion. Thereafter the Chief Guest inaugurated the new Hockey Ground of Machine Domana.

An outstanding match was played by both teams where all the players exhibited excellent energy, sportsmanship and excitement. The students of SGSD International School participated in the match with full enthusiasm. They boosted the teams by clapping with energy throughout the match. The match was full of heart and enthusiasm as the ground reverberated with the cheers of the students and teachers.

The event culminated with vote of thanks by Sardar Manjeet Singh Administrator of the school. He thanked the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour for sparing their valuable time to grace the function. He appreciated excellent performance of players of both the teams.
