Dr. Devansh Yadav, CEO Jammu Smart City Limited and Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, visited the Police Drug De-Addiction, Rehabilitation & Mental Health Care Centre, Jammu, and inspected the ongoing work of the upcoming OST (Opioid Substitution Therapy) Centre building. He reviewed the progress of the project and interacted with the officials concerned regarding the development of facilities aimed at strengthening rehabilitation and mental health care services.

Ms. Anna Sinha, IPS, SP (Hqrs) & Nodal Officer, Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) Jammu, was also present during the visit. Sh. Shaleen Kabra, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Government of Jammu & Kashmir, visited the Police Drug De-addiction, Rehabilitation & Mental Health Care Centre, Jammu, to review the facilities and ongoing efforts towards drug de-addiction, rehabilitation, and mental health care.
He was accompanied by Ms. Ansuya Jamwal, ADC Jammu, Dr. Harbaksh Singh, CMO Jammu, and other officials.

During the visit, the dignitaries interacted with the staff and patients, appreciated the dedicated services being rendered by the Centre, and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in combating substance abuse and promoting mental well-being.

Ms. Anisha Dhar, Counselor at the Police Drug De-Addiction, Rehabilitation and Mental Health Care Centre, Jammu, delivered an impactful awareness lecture to more than 100 hearing-impaired students and their parents in Jammu.

The programme, aimed at educating youth and families about the dangers of drug abuse, also featured an anti-drug awareness march in support of Hon'ble Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha's "Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan."

The event was organized by the Central Government Pensioners' Welfare Association and Jammu & Kashmir Samaj Kalyan Kendra, reflecting a collective commitment to building a drug-free future for our youth.

As part of the ongoing 'Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan', Office of Deputy Director Libraries, Jammu in coordination with Police Drug De-addiction, Rehabilitation and Mental Health Care Centre Jammu organised an awareness session on Drug Abuse and Health Wellness for Library Users, students and staff of Shri Ranbir Singh Library.

Dr. Shahnaz Butt, Director DDRC Jammu addressed the participants and shared insights on physical and mental health impacts of drugs, prevention strategies and counselling support.

An awareness lecture on drug abuse prevention was delivered yesterday by Divya Jamwal, Counsellor, Drug De-addiction Centre (DDC), Jammu, for the students of the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Sarvodaya Middle School Raieev Nagar Narwal, Jammu
During the session, students were made aware about the harmful effects of drug abuse, the dangers of peer pressure, and the importance of mental health and healthy lifestyle choices. Dr. Manisha Gupta from Department of AYUSH, delivered an insightful and engaging introduction to meditation practices. She emphasised the importance of incorporating meditation into daily routines to enhance concentration, maintain emotional balance, and improve overall health.

Today, a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) conducted a comprehensive workshop at the Police Drug De-addiction Centre. The workshop was organized with the objective of strengthening emergency preparedness and life-saving skills among the staff and clients of the De-addiction Centre.

During the session, the SDRF team provided structured training in Basic Life Support (BLS), which included recognition of medical emergencies, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and immediate response techniques to be adopted until advanced medical help becomes available.

Both staff members and clients actively participated in the training, gaining practical knowledge and hands-on experience under the guidance of trained SDRF personnel. The workshop significantly enhanced awareness regarding emergency response and reinforced the importance of timely and appropriate life-saving interventions in critical situations.

The programme concluded with an interactive discussion, addressing queries from participants and emphasizing the need for continued skill development in emergency care within de-addiction and rehabilitation settings.
