*Doctors Absent at PHC Kund, Patients Suffer as BDS Doctor Handles OPD*

Kulgam, nov 6: The residents of Kund area in South Kashmir's Kulgam district have expressed strong resentment over the alleged absence of doctors at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Kund. According to locals, the Outpatient Department (OPD) is currently being run by a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) doctor in the absence of qualified medical officers.

People from the area said that despite repeated appeals to the concerned authorities, no action has been taken to ensure the presence of doctors at the health facility. "There is no MBBS doctor present now, and the OPD is being managed by a BDS doctor. If any untoward incident happens to a patient due to lack of proper medical attention, who will be held responsible?" questioned one of the locals.

The locals added that the absence of proper medical staff has left patients in distress, especially during emergencies. They have urged the Health Department and the Block Medical Officer to take immediate steps to ensure regular presence of qualified doctors at PHC Kund.
