On the occasion of World Earth Day (22nd April), Mr. Sanjeev Arora, CEO of the Regional and Urban Development Agency (RUDA), conducted an engaging and insightful awareness session for students at International Delhi Public School. The session focused on building awareness around waste management and environmental responsibility, covering key aspects such as:

♻️ Importance of waste segregation at source
♻️ Responsible disposal for a sustainable future

A major highlight of the session was encouraging students to become “Green Champions”—young leaders who can drive positive environmental change within their homes, schools, and communities. Mr. Arora emphasized that small actions like segregating waste and practicing Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) can collectively create a significant impact on our environment.
The interactive session inspired students to adopt sustainable habits and take active responsibility for protecting our planet.

International Women’s Day | Rebuilding Trust through Empowerment 🌸

Today, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, we restarted our Rebuilding Trust Programme with the launch of a Skill Development Centre for 25 women in the remote border village of Makwal, located in the Sohanjana block of Marh constituency.

Makwal lies at the zero line on the Indian side and is the last village along the border. The village faces significant challenges, with extremely limited opportunities—especially for unemployed women who have long lacked access to skill training and livelihood options.

Through this initiative, local women will receive practical skill training designed to help them become self-reliant and financially independent. For many of them, this centre represents the first opportunity to learn skills that can open doors to sustainable livelihoods.

This effort is a small but meaningful step toward empowering women in border areas, creating livelihood opportunities, and strengthening community resilience.

On this International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to restore hope, dignity, and confidence among women living in some of the most neglected regions. When women gain skills and opportunities, they transform not only their own lives but also the future of their families and communities.

Regional and Urban Development Agency in partnership with Agrocel Foundation hosted a full-day workshop on “Sustainable Approaches to Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM)” at Bhuj, Kachchh. The workshop served as a experience-sharing and knowledge-exchange platform, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, NGOs, technical experts, and panchayat representatives.

The Workshop began with an inaugural session, followed by an overview of the ISWM project being implemented across Bhuj Gram Panchayats by Sh Sanjeev Arora highlighting the project’s vision, interventions, and on-ground impact.

Shri Pankaj Shah and Shri Nimish Phadke set the broader context for the workshop, emphasizing the role of local institutions, industry and community in sustainable waste management systems.

Shri Biren Brahma elaborated on the objectives of the workshop.
Ms Shivani Shroff shared field experiences from Kukma Panchayat, showcasing practical learnings and community engagement.

Shri Tejas Deshmukh spoke on rural-urban convergence, stressing the need for integrated planning between rural and urban waste management systems.

Shri Laxmikant Shravan Shinde delivered an insightful presentation on stakeholder engagement in waste management, institutional mechanisms, and inclusive participation.
