INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED VIOLIN MAESTRO DR. SANTOSH NAHAR ENTHRALLS AUDIENCE AT APEEJAY COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS, JALANDHAR

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organized a captivating violin recital by internationally acclaimed violin virtuoso Dr. Santosh Kumar Nahar. The programme was hosted by the Department of Performing Arts and witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of students, faculty members, and music connoisseurs.

Born into the illustrious Mishra (Bhagalpur Gharana) musical lineage of Bihar, Dr. Santosh Nahar received his initial training under the guidance of his father and guru, the late Prof. Prahlad Prasad Mishra. He further refined his artistry under the mentorship of eminent musicians including Pt. Kedarnath Mishra, Pt. Ramnaresh Mishra, Shri T.M. Patnaik, as well as his elder brothers Pt. Sangeet Nahar and Dr. Sahitya Nahar. Over the years, his exceptional contribution to Indian classical music has earned him prestigious honours such as Sur Ratna, Vadya Ratna, Surmani, and Sangeet Bhushan. His performances at renowned platforms including the Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan and Swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan have earned him widespread acclaim both nationally and internationally.

Welcoming the distinguished artist, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed her profound gratitude to the visionary leadership of Apeejay Education. She paid homage to the Founder Chairman of Apeejay Education, Dr. Stya Paul, whose farsighted vision laid the foundation for an educational philosophy that seamlessly integrates academic excellence with cultural enrichment. She also acknowledged the invaluable guidance and patronage of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Education; Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group; and Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University and Dr. Neha Berlia, Co-owner and Director, Family Business Board, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, and Lead, Education Vertical, Apeejay Education, and noted that the institution's continued endeavour to bring eminent artists to campus reflects the unwavering commitment to nurturing creativity, artistic appreciation, and cultural consciousness among young minds.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Dhingra remarked, “In an age dominated by speed and distraction, music remains one of the most profound mediums for cultivating reflection, sensitivity, and inner harmony. Institutions of higher learning must not only impart knowledge but also create opportunities for students to engage with excellence in its purest form. When young learners witness a maestro transforming years of disciplined practice into artistic brilliance, they discover the true meaning of perseverance, dedication, and lifelong learning. It is our privilege to welcome Dr. Santosh Nahar, whose remarkable musical journey serves as an inspiration for every aspiring artist and student.”

The recital unfolded as a memorable musical experience as Dr. Nahar presented Raag Patdeep in Teentaal with remarkable finesse and depth. He subsequently captivated the audience with a diverse repertoire that included the Rajasthani folk melody Kesariya Padharo Mhare Des, the evergreen classics Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai and Honthon Se Chhoo Lo Tum, the soulful composition Tu Hi Re, the devotional bhajan Payo Ji Maine Ram Ratan Dhan Payo, and the beloved Punjabi folk song Challa. The enchanting strains of his violin created an atmosphere of serenity and aesthetic delight, leaving the audience spellbound.

The recital was further enriched by the accomplished tabla accompaniment of Shri Rehmat Sidhu and Shri Ratnalal Mishra, whose rhythmic mastery added vibrancy and depth to the performance. The programme was gracefully compered by Dr. Sumit Singh 'Padam', whose eloquent stage management contributed significantly to its success.

At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the dedicated efforts of Dr. Arun Mishra Cultural Coordinator , Dr. Amita Mishra, Dean Youth Festival , and Dr. Micky Verma for their invaluable contribution towards the successful organization of the programme.

Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar Win ‘Best Concept’ Award for Short Film ‘Khamosh Rishte’

Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar once again brought laurels to the institution by showcasing their exceptional talent. The students of the B.Design Multimedia Department won the ‘Best Concept’ award for their short film ‘Khamosh Rishte’ at ‘Srijan Canvas of Cinema 2026’, organized by the School of Design and Mass Communication, GNA University.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra congratulated all the students associated with the film and stated that this achievement is the result of their dedication, hard work, and passion. She encouraged the students to continue working with the same commitment and enthusiasm so that they can establish themselves successfully in this field in the future.

Mehak Gupta worked as the director and writer of the film, while Taranpreet Singh contributed as the cinematographer and editor. Pratham Singh played the role of actor as well as editor, whereas Ananya Anand showcased his talent as an actor and graphic designer. Gurkirat Kaur performed impressively as the assistant director.

The students received this recognition for the film’s powerful writing and impactful storytelling. Expressing their happiness, the students shared that participating in the competition helped them learn many new aspects of short filmmaking, which will certainly benefit them in the future.

Dr. Neerja Dhingra also appreciated the efforts of Mr. Ankit Goel and Ms. Anjali for guiding the students and expressed hope that they would continue to mentor and inspire students in the same manner in the future.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised a grand Valedictory Ceremony marking the successful completion of its 3-week Free Skill Enhancement Classes for students who had recently completed their Class 12 examinations. The initiative reflected the institution’s continued commitment towards holistic education, creativity, personality development, and skill-oriented learning.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, while addressing the gathering, highlighted that ACFA continues to move ahead on the path of excellence while preserving India’s rich cultural heritage under the visionary guidance of Founder Chairman Dr. Stya Paul Ji. She acknowledged the dynamic leadership of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia and Dr. Neha Berlia in empowering the institution to provide value-based and technologically advanced education.

In her inspiring address, Dr. Dhingra emphasised that true growth begins when young minds step beyond their comfort zones, and that skill enhancement helps students discover confidence, creativity, leadership, and purpose. She also shared that the college was honoured in 2024 with the prestigious ‘Best Institute for Excellence in Higher Education and Skill Enhancement’ award by ON Education and Acer.

Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar Pays Floral Tribute to Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji on Her 14th Death Anniversary

A solemn and heartfelt tribute ceremony was organized at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar to commemorate the 14th death anniversary of Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji. Faculty members, staff, and students gathered to offer floral tributes and remember her remarkable legacy of compassion, cultural vision, and dedication to the promotion of fine arts and education.

On this occasion, Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson of Apeejay Education and Apeejay Stya & Svran Group and Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, paid rich tribute to Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji and described her as an embodiment of kindness, grace, and unwavering commitment. She stated that Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji was a visionary woman far ahead of her time, whose deep passion for music, dance, and the fine arts inspired Dr. Stya Paul Ji to establish Rajeshwari Kala Sangam. Today, that vision has flourished into a vast educational and cultural legacy that continues to preserve India’s rich artistic heritage while empowering younger generations through modern education.

Expressing her thoughts on the occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said, “The truest homage we can offer to Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji is to nurture creativity with sensitivity and purpose. Her vision was not merely to preserve the arts, but to make them a living force capable of shaping compassionate, culturally aware, and confident individuals. At Apeejay, we remain committed to transforming that vision into a vibrant reality through every artistic and academic endeavour undertaken by our institution.”

Dr. Dhingra further remarked that the institution’s faculty members, many of whom are distinguished performing artists at national and international platforms, continue to uphold and strengthen the artistic ideals envisioned by Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji through their meaningful contributions to the world of fine arts.

The programme also featured a soulful musical tribute presented by students of the Department of Music under the guidance of Cultural Coordinators Dr. Arun Mishra and Dr. Amita Mishra. The students rendered some of the favourite devotional compositions of Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji, creating an atmosphere of reverence and emotional remembrance.

The ceremony concluded with faculty members and staff offering floral tributes and paying their heartfelt respects to the cherished memory of Mrs. Rajeshwari Paul Ji.
