ANSU Issues 7-Day Ultimatum to Union Education Minister, Seeks Removal of NERIST Director

The All Nyishi Studentsā Union (ANSU) has submitted a detailed representation to Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, demanding the immediate relief of Dr. Narendranath S., Director of the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST).
In its representation, ANSU has issued a seven-day ultimatum, urging the Ministry of Education to initiate appropriate action on what it describes as serious administrative and governance issues within the institute.
The memorandum raises allegations relating to:
ā¢ Gross administrative failure
ā¢ Alleged financial irregularities in the release of public funds
ā¢ Violation of recruitment rules
ā¢ Non-compliance with Board of Management resolutions
ā¢ Alleged deviation from the Minutes of Meetings held with student bodies
ā¢ Concerns over recruitment and departmental promotion processes
According to ANSU, the representation is supported by official documents, including meeting minutes, Ministry communications, recruitment rules, Board of Management resolutions, financial records, and other annexures.
The Union has requested the Ministry of Education to:
* Relieve the Director from office.
* Order an independent inquiry into the alleged financial irregularities.
* Examine the legality of the recruitment process.
* Review administrative decisions alleged to be inconsistent with statutory provisions.
* Initiate appropriate action against officials found responsible after due inquiry.
ANSU has further stated that if no action is initiated within seven days of receipt of the representation, it will launch an indefinite, peaceful and democratic protest across Arunachal Pradesh.
