Women-led enterprises from Arunachal Pradesh presented a hamper of freshly made bakery items to the Hon’ble Minister of Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Shri Chirag Paswan ji.

The women are undergoing capacity building training under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme facilitated by the Department of Industries at Tezpur University, FET Department.

During the interaction, the Hon’ble Minister engaged with the women entrepreneurs, appreciated their efforts, and conveyed his best wishes for the continued success and growth of their enterprises.

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), Jote was virtually inaugurated on 23rd February, 2026 by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Pema Khandu during a Mega Event on the National SC–ST Hub organised by NSIC under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, in collaboration with the Department of Industries, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

The occasion was also graced by Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Shri Nyato Dokum, and Hon’ble Minister for SJETA, Shri Kento Jini, along with other senior dignitaries from the Ministry and State.

The Mega Event witnessed the participation of over 1000+ entrepreneurs from diverse sectors, as well as students from premier institutions across the State, reflecting widespread interest in entrepreneurship development and the promotion of MSMEs.

Smt. Nabam Sangte, PM Vishwakarma beneficiary and Basket Maker from Arunachal Pradesh, shared her first experience of participating in a major national event at Dilli Haat, New Delhi, where she gained exposure to visual merchandising, interacted with customers from different states and international customers , and achieved good sales of her products. She also connected with officials of the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) and visited the institute to learn modern packaging processes. Interaction with artisans from other states enabled mutual learning on business skills and design. Travelling to Delhi for the first time by flight and experiencing a metro city added to the memorable journey. She expressed sincere gratitude to the Industry Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, and the Government of India for providing this opportunity through the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries participating at Dilli Haat, New Delhi, received technical support from officials of the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) to adopt enhanced, market-oriented packaging solutions aimed at improving product presentation and commercial value.

Packaging assistance, a key component of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, was extended to the artisans during the event. The initiative was undertaken in coordination with IIP under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme, enabling beneficiaries to implement upgraded packaging designs that improved product visibility and strengthened market competitiveness.

Four beneficiaries from Arunachal Pradesh under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme participated in the prestigious exhibition held at Dilli Haat from 17th to 31st January 2026.

The participating artisans were:
• Smt. Nabam Sangte (Basket Maker) – showcased cane-based and handloom products, with approximately 70 pieces sold during the exhibition.
• Smt. Marbam Agnes (Goldsmith – Jewellery) – displayed jewellery items, key holders, and mobile accessories, recording sales of 111 items.
• Miss Kipa Maniam (Pottery) – presented pottery items, décor pieces, and handloom products, with around 70 pieces sold.
• Smt. Amma Bagbi (Doll and Toy Maker) – exhibited crochet products, handloom items, and jewellery pieces, achieving remarkable sales of 530 items.

The artisans effectively showcased the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh, attracting significant interest from both national and international customers and achieving commendable sales throughout the event.

MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Itanagar in collaboration with Dept. of Industries, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh & NIUMHI Foundation held PM Vishwakarma Awareness Camps in Namsai, Lohit and Longding districts from 6th to 10th Jan 2026 which saw participation of 250+ artisans in various trade such as Basket making, carpentry, masonry, doll toy maker, tailoring and other PM Vishwakarma eligible trades.

Sessions covered during the camp ranged from MSME schemes, financial literacy & banking, entrepreneurship, marketing/branding & packaging, skill development, plus on‑site UDYAM registration and PM Vishwakarma QR code generation.

The Industries Department, as the nodal agency, steered a comprehensive review meeting chaired by Ld. Chief Secretary, Government of Arunachal Pradesh and co-chaired by Shri Gopala Krishnan, Chairman, Staff Selection Board (New Delhi) and Shri. Hage Tari, Secretary In-Charge for the State’s Deregulation and Compliance Burden Reduction mandate.

The meeting focused on assessing the progress of the ongoing De-regulation and Compliance Reduction initiative. A total of 23 priority areas across major departments were reviewed, and clear timelines were set to further streamline processes, enhance ease of doing business, and reduce compliance for industries and businesses.

The Industries Department remains committed to supporting this reform agenda and strengthening a more efficient, transparent, and investor-friendly governance ecosystem in Arunachal Pradesh.
