VIKSIT BHARAT YOUTH PARLIAMENT (VBYP) 2025. DISTRICT NODAL ROUND COMPETITON BEGINS AT DNGC

DNGC, 22nd March 2025: As per the direction framed by the Regional Directorate of NSS Guwahati, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI, the Dera Natung Government College (DNGC), Itanagar (District Nodal Institute for VBYP 2025) in association with the NSS Cell DNGC & the NYKS, Itanagar, is organizing the District Nodal Round Competition of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 with the theme: “One Nation, One Election: Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat” on 22nd and 23rd March 2025 in the Conference Hall of the college at 9.30 AM.

The first day of the competition draws the participation of about 40 youths who successfully presented their three minutes speech on the mentioned theme.

The mega event is being organised and coordinated by Mr. Botem Moyong (Assistant Professor Mathematics), the District Nodal Officer, ICR VBYP 2025 along with Dr. Chalak Lowang (Assistant Professor Pol. Science), Mr. Hevojit Deka (Assistant Professor Education) and Dr. Bombi Riram (Assistant Professor Education).

The formal inaugural Programme of the mega event showed the gracious presence of Dr. M.Q. Khan, Principal DNGC as the Chief Guest, Dr. A.K. Mishra, SLO, State NSS Cell, Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, GoAP as the Guest of Honor, five members jury consisting of Dr. Ratna Tayeng, (HoD Anthropology), Dr. Karsing Megu (Assistant Professor Zoology), Dr. Prem Taba (Youth Leader cm General Secretary of Youth Mission for Clean River, Itanagar), Dr. Chalak Lowang (Assistant Professor Pol. Science) & Mr. Hevojit Deka (Assistant Professor Education), other faculty members Dr. Bombi Riram (Assistant Professor Education), Dr. Kipa Roni (Assistant Professor cm PO NSS), a NIELIT faculty Mr. M. Tamuli Phukan and participants from different institutes & NSS volunteers of DNGC.

Earlier, the total of 268 participants from across the eight districts of Arunachal Pradesh, viz. Itanagar Capital Region, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Keyi Panyor, Kamle, Pakke Kessang, Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts had participated in the initial round i.e. the Registration Round of VBYP 2025 wherein the participants had uploaded one-minute videos on the theme: “What does Viksit Bharat mean to you? “. Out of 250 participants, the top 150 winners have been selected for the District Nodal Round Competition wherein the participants have to present three minutes speech on theme: “One nation, One Election: Paving the way for Viksit Bharat”.

Out of 150 participants in the District Nodal Round, the top 10 winners will be selected for the State Level Championship, which is going to be held at the State Assembly, Arunachal Pradesh.

Dr. M.Q. Khan, Principal of DNGC and the Chief Guest, spoke about the vision of a developed India by 2047, underscoring the nation’s ongoing journey toward achieving its objectives. Drawing from the examples of Amrit Mahotsav, he emphasized the celebration of India’s progress, achievements, and aspirations, while urging the youth to take pride in the country's rich cultural heritage. He reinforced the message that a developed nation leads to individual progress, emphasizing unity and peace as key pillars for growth and transformation, regardless of religion, caste, or creed.
Dr. A.K. Mishra, State Liaison Officer, State NSS Cell, DH&TE, GoAP, and the Guest of Honor, encouraged the students to actively participate in initiatives such as the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025, which allow youth to share their ideas and contribute to nation building.

Mr. Botem Moyong, District Nodal Officer, ICR, welcomed the dignitaries and attendees, emphasizing the primary objectives of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025. He highlighted that the platform offers youth a chance to engage in national discussions and contribute their voices toward shaping India's future.

Dr. Prem Taba, General Secretary of Youth Mission for Clean River, Arunachal Pradesh, and an External Jury member, encouraged the youth to engage in societal issues and emphasized the critical role of youth in fostering strong governance through active participation, particularly in environmental causes.

The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Bombi Riram, Member of VKYP and Assistant Professor in the Education Department at DNGC, marking the successful start of the two-day event. This event provided a platform for youth to express their perspectives on India's future, contributing to the national dialogue on the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat.'

The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament formerly called the National Youth Parliament Festival has been aligned with the Prime minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. The event is organised every year under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports, GoI across the nation.

The main objectives of organizing the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament are:
1. To hear the voice of youth between 18 – 25 years of age, through deliberations at District, state and National levels.
2. To encourage the youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man’s point of view, form their opinions and express them in an articulate manner.
3. To develop and enhance decision-making abilities.
4. To develop in them respect and tolerance for the views of others.
5. To develop in them an understanding that respect for rules is essential for conducting any discussion systematically and effectively.
6. To obtain and document their opinions on the Vision of Viksit Bharat.
7. To make available their views to policymakers and implementer to take it forward.

The event will be concluded on 23rd March 2025.
