In a time where inherited boundaries define many of the choices a young person makes, our work facilitates a process where they can have information and an individual s

tance based on an informed worldview. Pravah Anhad is, located at Indore, the education of the state of Madhya Pradesh with a population of approximately 2.4 million and a high rate of migration into the city of mostly laborers and students, with the city’s youth comprising over 55 percent of the population. The city is undergoing a number of changes, which is resulting in a lot of turmoil. In terms of aspirations, the city is looking towards Bombay - malls, multi- storied buildings and call centers. Personality development, English speaking classes and easy businesses among others are on the rise. Dealing with this fast paced urbanization while being rooted in the cultural tradition has created a tough situation for young people. After having done an analysis on the changing scenario of the city, our intervention in Indore is aimed at creating a safe and inclusive space for the young people of the city where they understand themselves amidst the pressures of family, peers, and their careers. We recognize an urgent need to create such a space where they simultaneously engage with their community, understanding its influence on them and vice versa, and are able to make informed choices.

जब्बार, जो 103 कम्युनिटी में रहते हैं, अपनी बस्ती में बदलाव लाना चाहते हैं, लेकिन एक बड़ी रुकावट थी, लोगों से बात करने और उनके सामने बोलने की हिचकिचाहट। भीड़ के सामने बोलना उनके लिए हमेशा मुश्किल रहा था।पिछले दिनों हमारी कम्युनिटी में गम्मत का आयोजन हुआ, जिसमें हमें नुक्कड़ नाटक के ज़रिए लोगों को संविधान सभा में मौजूद 15 महिलाओं के योगदान के बारे में बताना था। यह नाटक हमें 6 अलग-अलग जगहों पर करना था।पहली जगह पर जब्बार बिल्कुल भी बोल नहीं पाए। दूसरी बार भी वही स्थिति रही। लेकिन तीसरी बार, उन्होंने हिम्मत जुटाई और थोड़े शब्द ही सही, पर बोलने की कोशिश की। धीरे-धीरे उनका डर कम होने लगा। और जब आख़िरी यानी छठवीं जगह पर नाटक हुआ, तो वही जब्बार, जो शुरुआत में चुप खड़े रहते थे, अब आत्मविश्वास से बिना हिचकिचाहट के बोल रहे थे।आज जब्बार का ये सफ़र हमें याद दिलाता है कि बदलाव छोटे-छोटे क़दमों से शुरू होता है। डर को हराने का रास्ता भी एक कोशिश से ही निकलता है।

नीतू के लिए समुदाय के सामने खुद को रखना हमेशा एक कठिन काम रहा। उसके मन में एक बड़ा डर था कि “लोग मेरी बात सुनेंगे या नहीं?” या “क्या मैं अकेली ये सब कर पाउंगी?” इस डर की वजह से वो हमेशा पीछे हट जाती थी और अपनी बात किसी के साथ साझा करने में घबराती थी। लेकिन एक दिन नीतू ने तय किया कि उसे इस डर को वह अपने रास्तो की रुकावट नहीं बनने देगी। उसने खुदको एक चुनौती दी कि एक सप्ताह में समुदाय के अंदर अपना एक समूह बनाएगी वो भी बिना किसी की मदद के।शुरूआत आसान नहीं थी और उसे संदेह था, की लोग आएंगे या नहीं, समर्थन मिलेगा या नहीं। लेकिन जब नीतू ने हिम्मत करके अपने समुदाय के लोगों से बात की, और उन्हें साथ आने के लिए बुलाया, तो लोगों ने खुशी से हां कहा और गम्मत इकट्ठा हो गया। धीरे-धीरे उसका ग्रुप आकर लेने लगा जिससे नीतू के अंदर का डर कम होने लगा। आज नीतू के घर वाले और समुदाय के लोग उसके अंदर के इस बदलाव को देख कर गर्व महसूस करते हैं। जो लड़की पहले अपने डर की वजह से खुद को रोके रखती थी, वह आज इतने अच्छे से सबसे खुल के बात कर रही है। नीतू ने साबित कर दिया कि डर के आगे ही नई शुरुआत होती है और एक कदम आगे बढ़ने से सारी चीजें बदल जाती हैं।

अब Jabbar ‘Swayam Se Hum: Samvidhan Yatra’ प्रोग्राम के युवा नेता हैं। अपने जीवन के अनुभवों से उन्होंने बहुत कुछ सीखा है, और अब वही सीख वह अपने समुदाय में बांट रहे हैं।

*Swayam Se Hum: Samvidhan Yatra*
During the orientation, our youth leaders and community coordinators were given a unique challenge. Placed across villages like Burarkheda, Chirpura, Behragav, and Bagwad, where SHEDO had previously worked, they had to arrange their own night stay and dinner with a condition: contribute to household or community chores.

Prachi, a youth leader, reflected, “Initially, we felt uncertain and overwhelmed. Questions raced through our minds - Where will I stay? Will it be safe? Why would anyone host me? What if no one lets me in? But something beautiful happened. We faced our fears, connected, listened, and shared. By the end of the night, what remained were the stories and the strength we found in ourselves and each other.”

Kudos to all the youth leaders for overcoming their fears and bonding with the villagers!

From 200 voices, we found 12 dreams.

Through ‘Swayam Se Hum: Samvidhan Yatra’, we empowered 12 youth leaders and 4 community coordinators across five communities: Bheem Nagar, Ekta Nagar, Rahul Gandhi Nagar, Tejpur Gadbadipuliya.

Our orientation journey took us to Timarni (June 19-22), where we collaborated with SHEDO, an organization passionate about Constitutional values, music, and youth leadership. Together, we explored our identities, shared dreams, and reflected on community realities.

AntarNaad – जब दिल बोले तो सुनना ज़रूरी होता है।

25 मई, रविवार को युवाओं के लिए एक नए अड्डे की शुरुआत हुई — AntarNaad, जहां कला बनी एक ज़रिया, और संवैधानिक मूल्यों को जीने का एक नया सफर शुरू हुआ।

इस पहल का उद्देश्य है युवाओं के लिए एक खुली, स्वाभाविक और समावेशी स्थान बनाना, जहां वे अपनी कला के माध्यम से अपने विचार और संवेदनाएं साझा कर सकें। AntarNaad केवल एक कार्यक्रम नहीं, बल्कि एक मंच है जहाँ हम मिलकर यह समझने और महसूस करने की कोशिश करते हैं कि कैसे संवैधानिक मूल्य — जैसे भाइचारा, समानता, न्याय और स्वतंत्रता — हमारी दैनिक ज़िंदगी का हिस्सा बन सकते हैं।

पहले सत्र में हमने संगीत को माध्यम बनाकर भाइचारे की भावना को जाना, समझा और महसूस किया। यह सिर्फ एक प्रस्तुति नहीं थी, बल्कि एक आपसी बातचीत, अभिव्यक्ति और जुड़ाव का अवसर था।

आइए, हम सब मिलकर AntarNaad को एक ऐसा समूह बनाएं जहां हर युवा को अपनी कला, अपनी आवाज़ और अपने विचार रखने का अवसर मिले — और हम सब मिलकर अपने संविधान को सिर्फ पढ़ें ही नहीं, बल्कि उसे जीना भी शुरू करें।

Yesterday, we held an engaging and insightful session on fundraising. Our team learned that fundraising is all about building relationships and telling our story in a way that resonates. To put their new skills to the test, we divided the team into groups and challenged them to raise funds in just 2 hours across Indore.

The results were amazing - not only did they raise some funds, but they also received donations of stationery items and made some valuable connections. What struck us most was the team’s growth and confidence after the exercise.

Sanjana, one of our team members, shared her thoughts: “This experience was very valuable. Learning the theoretical part and then experiencing it practically gave us a deeper understanding and enhanced our storytelling skills with every try.”

The key takeaway? The art of fundraising is, at its core, the art of storytelling.

Yesterday, our team came together for a meeting to reflect on last year’s growth and plan for the year ahead. It was an energizing session where everyone shared their ideas and dreams for Had Anhad’s future. We also had some fun icebreaker sessions that helped us bond and connect on a personal level.

The meeting ended on a high note, with everyone feeling motivated and excited about the year ahead.
