We proudly congratulate Dr. Ch. Brajakishor Singh, Scientist, BRIC-IBSD, and his team for the successful publication of the research article titled:
“Structural and histological changes in Ascaridia galli exposed in vitro to underutilized anthelmintic plant, Meyna laxiflora Robyns seed extract”
Major Highlights
1. The Methanolic seed extract of Meyna laxiflora showed significant dose-dependent anthelmintic activity against Ascaridia galli
2. Treatment with 100 mg/mL of Meyna laxiflora extract induced complete mortality of A. galli within 7.96 ± 1.00 h.
3. The GC-MS analysis could identify 19 phytochemicals with melezitose, L-glucose, and 3-cyclohex-3-enylpropionic acid as the major compounds.
4. The extract showed minimal cytotoxicity (

BRIC-IBSD Imphal, inaugurated a five-day National Workshop on “Analytical Chromatography Techniques for Quality & Efficacy Assessment of Medicinal Plant Resources (IBSD-SAPB)” today. Supported by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the workshop is hosting 50 research scholars and young scientists from renowned institutions across North East India, including IIT Guwahati, Dibrugarh University, and CSIR-NEIST. This event aims to provide advanced training in state-of-the-art analytical chromatographic techniques for assessing medicinal plant resources, fostering collaboration and innovation in medicinal plant research.
