The Directorate of Craftsmen Training, Manipur which was set up in 1980 is under the administrative control of the Addl. Chief Secy./Principal Secy./Commissioner (Labour & Employment), Ex-Officio Director of Training, Labour Department, Government of Manipur. The Directorate General of Training under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India is responsible for laying

down the policies and training standards. The responsibilities for day-to-day administration and implementation of training programmes of the Govt. ITI rests with this Directorate/State Government. The main function and responsibility of the Department is โ€œJob Oriented Skill Developmentโ€ and the objectives is to:-

I. Increase the Industrial production for betterment of socio-economic condition of the people. Solve unemployment problems among the educated youth by promoting self employment. Uplift the training standard by replacing out-dated tools/machinery with new ones. Give training, especially to Ex-ITI trainees to further enhance their skill. The Department implements the following schemes for imparting training:

1. CRAFTSMEN TRAINING SCHEME
2. APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING SCHEME and
3. SKILL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE SCHEME

On 30th March 2026, a Workshop on the ๐๐ซ๐š๐๐ก๐š๐ง ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ข ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐€๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐’๐œ๐ก๐ž๐ฆ๐ž (๐๐Œ-๐๐€๐๐’ ๐Ÿ.๐ŸŽ) ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก ๐„๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง ๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ง was successfully conducted at ๐”๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐Œ๐จ๐๐ž๐ฅ ๐‡๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ, ๐Š๐จ๐ฆ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ก๐š๐›๐ข, ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ง๐๐ž๐ฅ. The workshop featured a series of informative sessions, including presentations on the introduction to apprenticeship and its landscape, an overview of PM-NAPS 2.0, and detailed guidance on the registration process for both establishments and candidates. Interactive question-and-answer sessions were also conducted, allowing participants to clarify their doubts and gain practical insights. The programme concluded with a summary note by Shri Sh. Bedajit Sharma and a vote of thanks by Shri Ngangbam Iboyaima Meetei Ng Iboyaima

With continuous efforts to strengthen skill development and promote apprenticeship opportunities, the Directorate of Craftsmen Training, Govt. of Manipur, under the Skills, Labour, Employment and Entrepreneurship (SLEE) Department, organised a Workshop on ๐๐ซ๐š๐๐ก๐š๐ง ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ขโ€“๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐€๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐’๐œ๐ก๐ž๐ฆ๐ž (๐๐Œ-๐๐€๐๐’ ๐Ÿ.๐ŸŽ) ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก ๐„๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง ๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ง on 24th March 2026 at Govt. Industrial Training Institute(ITI), Sekmai.

The workshop was chaired by ๐’๐ก๐ซ๐ข ๐๐ž๐ง๐ณ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Š๐ฎ๐ฆ๐›๐š๐ง๐ , Principal, National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) Extension, Imphal, along with ๐’๐ก๐ซ๐ข ๐“๐ก. ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ง๐๐ซ๐š ๐’๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ก, Principal i/c, Govt. Industrial Training Institute(ITI), Sekmai, and ๐’๐ก๐ซ๐ข ๐Œ๐š๐ฌ๐จ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ข ๐™๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ค, State Engagement Officer, NSDC National Skill Development Corporation.

A total of 78 candidates from various institutions, including ITI trainees, participated in the workshop. The programme also saw the presence of 9 establishments and 14 officials. The session highlighted the key advantages of PM-NAPS 2.0 and emphasised the importance of industry participation in enhancing apprenticeship opportunities and employability among youth in the region.
