The reported incident at S.K. College of Nursing, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, involving around 50 nursing students from the North-East, is deeply disturbing and demands an impartial investigation. S.K. College of Nursing is located in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

If these reports of students being physically assaulted are confirmed, it is not merely a campus dispute—it is a serious question of women’s safety, dignity, human rights and accountability.

Our North-East daughters leave their homes to pursue education and build their futures. They deserve respect, security and equal treatment wherever they study in India. No student should have to live in fear of violence, discrimination or humiliation.

This raises an important question for those in power: Where are our leaders when North-East women and students are allegedly being subjected to violence? Where is the accountability?

The BJP-led Central Government and the concerned State authorities must ensure that allegations of violence are investigated fairly and promptly, victims receive proper protection and support, and anyone found responsible faces the law.

Women’s safety cannot be selective. Justice cannot depend on geography. And the voices of North-East women must never be ignored.

Protect our daughters. Protect our students. Uphold human rights. Demand justice.
