PRABUDHA BHARAT READING CIRCLE invites you all for a discussion on Ambedkar's "Annihilation of Caste"

Annihilation of Caste is the undelivered Presidential address of Babasaheb Ambedkar in the Jat Pat Todak Mandal conference, Lahore which was to be held in 1936. In the text, Ambedkar dissects the meaning of Social Reform in India and how it can be achieved. He examines both the present as well as history to explain why the then current imagination of Social Reform is flawed and bound to fail unless caste is admitted as the basis of Indian Social Organization. The Mandal suggested various changes in the speech fearing backlash from Hindus. On Ambedkar's refusal to incorporate any change, the event was cancelled and Ambedkar published the speech as an essay in multiple languages and several
subsequent editions.

ASA has legitimate authority to declare that RSS has absolutely no right to stake a claim in this revolutionary history. In fact its presence is anathema to these achievements and its pathetic attempt to portray itself as just another student organisation is a gross abuse of this legacy.
