Nine Shops Gutted in Fire at Madannapet Mandi; Amjed Ullah Khan Demands Compensation and CM Revanth Reddy’s Immediate Intervention

Hyderabad: Nine shops were gutted in a fire at Madannapet Mandi, under the Yakutpura Assembly Constituency, causing significant losses to small traders who depend on these shops for their livelihood.

Amjed Ullah Khan (Spokesman), MBT, along with Mohammad Saber (MBT leader) visited Madannapet Mandi and met the traders whose shops were destroyed in the fire yesterdayat around 11:30 PM . He personally inspected the affected shops and took details of the losses suffered by each trader.

Mr. Amjed Ullah Khan expressed concern over the horrible and unsafe conditions in which traders are being forced to conduct their businesses at Madannapet Mandi. He stated that the traders are facing serious hardships and that the government must take immediate steps to improve the basic infrastructure and safety conditions at the mandi.

Mr. Khan appealed to Sri Anumula Revanth Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, who is scheduled to visit the area for the inauguration of the Saidabad Flyover, to also visit Madannapet Mandi and personally witness the conditions in which the traders are forced to carry on their business.

He urged the Chief Minister to sanction immediate financial compensation to all nine affected shop owners, whose livelihoods have been severely impacted by the fire.

The affected traders and shops include:

1. Mohammed Jahangir – Fruit Shop: Shop completely burnt; incurred an estimated loss of nearly ₹50,000.
2. P. Papi Reddy – Sugarcane Shop: Shop gutted in the fire.
3. K. Soan Kumar – Ginger & Garlic (Adrak-Lahsun) Shop: Shop gutted in the fire.
4. B. Mallesh – Fruit Shop: Shop affected by the fire.
5. P. Govind Reddy – Fruit Shop: Shop affected by the fire.
6. Savitri & Balamma – Garam Masala Shop: Shop gutted in the fire.
7. Andalu – Flower Shop: Shop gutted in the fire.
8. Vinay – Vegetable Shop: Shop gutted in the fire.
9. One additional affected shop/trader: Details to be included after verification.

Amjed Ullah Khan said that the government must not limit its response to inspecting the incident but should provide immediate relief to the affected traders and ensure that such incidents do not recur.

He demanded a proper assessment of the losses suffered by all the affected traders, immediate compensation, and improvement of the infrastructure and fire-safety arrangements at Madannapet Mandi.

“The Chief Minister should visit Madannapet Mandi and see the ground reality for himself. These traders are struggling to earn their livelihood in extremely poor conditions. The nine shop owners who have lost their shops and goods in the fire deserve immediate compensation and government support,” Mr. Khan said.

Eminent Islamic scholars to address MBT’s Jalsa-e-Milad Un Nabi on August 29

* 35th Jalsa-e-Milad Un Nabi to focus on Prophet Muhammad’s teachings of peace, tolerance and brotherhood

Hyderabad, August 27: Eminent Islamic scholars and thinkers from across the country will address the 35th Jalsa-e-Rahmatul Muslimeen (PBUH), a public meeting being organised by the Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) at the Government Junior College Grounds, Chanchalguda, on Saturday, August 29, as part of the celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

According to MBT spokesman Amjed Ullah Khan, the gathering will feature Hazrat Moulana M***i Mohammed Miyan Qadeeri, Sajjada Nasheen of Khanqah-e-Osmania Qadeeria, Pilibhit Shareef, Uttar Pradesh, and Prof Dr Hafeez-ur-Rahman, Professor at JNTU, Delhi, and founder of the Sufi Peace Foundation, along with several other prominent Islamic scholars.

Among those scheduled to address the meeting are Hazrat Moulana M***i Ghulam Dastagir Ashrafi, Kaamil, Jamia Nizamia, and General Secretary of the Sunni Ulema Board; Moulana Syed Bakhtiyar Aalam, Imam and Khateeb of Jamia Masjid-e-Mehedviya; and Zakir-e-Ahle Bait Dr Shoukat Ali Mirza Sahab Qibla.

The meeting will be held under the supervision of MBT president Md Majeedullah Khan Farhat. MBT Organising Secretary Abdul Khader Sajid will also address the gathering.

The programme will begin with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Ghulam Ahmed Niazi. Islamic poets and Naat reciters, including Hazrat Mohammed Samdani Sahab, Moulvi Qari Naseeruddin, Hafiz-o-Qari Nival-ur-Rahman, Qari Mohammed Meraj Ahmed, Qari Mohammed Haroon Ahmed, Mohammed Shuja-ur-Rahman and Hafez Mohammed Mustafa, will recite Naat-e-Shareef in praise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
