The Telangana Biodiversity Board is a statutory and autonomous body corporate constituted by the Government of Telangana in the year 2014 under Section 22 (1) of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 vide G.O.Ms.No.21, EFS&T Dept., dt.25.10.2014 . The Telangana State Biodiversity Board has been constituted by the Government of Telangana in the year 2014 under Section 22 of chapter VI of the Biologica

l Diversity Act, 2002 vide G.O.Ms.No.21, EFS&T Dept., dt.25.10.2014 as notified in the Telangana Gazette No.85 dated 05.11.2014. As per the provisions of the Section 63(1) of the Biological Diversity Act 2002 the State Government has to frame Telangana Biological Diversity Rules for implementation and carrying out the purposes of the said Act.

🏃‍♂️🌿 GREENATHON 2026 – RUN FOR BIODIVERSITY | IBD 2026 🌿🏃‍♀️

As part of the International Day for Biological Diversity (IBD) 2026 celebrations, the Telangana Biodiversity Board, in association with HMDA and GHMC, organized Greenathon 2026 – Run for Biodiversity on 17th May 2026 at People Plaza, Hyderabad to promote biodiversity conservation, environmental awareness, fitness, and sustainable living.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, youth, environmentalists, government officials, NGOs, walkers, runners, and biodiversity enthusiasts. The programme was graced by Sri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Government, MA&UD, Sports & Youth Services and Special Officer for GHMC, as Guest of Honour, along with Ms. Saina Nehwal, International Badminton Champion, and Mr. Shanky Singh, International Wrestler, as Chief Guests.

🌿In observance of World Environment Day 2026, the Telangana Biodiversity Board, in collaboration with Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) across the State, organized plantation drives in villages under the inspiring campaign "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" .

🪴BMC members, local communities actively participated in planting saplings, reaffirming their commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable living. Every sapling planted symbolizes our gratitude to our mothers and our responsibility towards Mother Earth.

🌱 World Environment Day 2026 – Plantation Programme at NACIN, Hyderabad 🌱

🌳As part of the World Environment Day celebrations on 05 June 2026 and the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, the Telangana Biodiversity Board (TGBDB), in collaboration with the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN), ZTI, Hyderabad, organized a sapling plantation programme at the NACIN campus.🌿

🪴The programme witnessed the participation of Shri Neelesh Rautkar, IRS, Additional Director General, NACIN ZTI, Hyderabad, Members of the Telangana Biodiversity Board, and officials from both organizations. Indigenous saplings were planted to promote environmental conservation, enhance green cover, and support biodiversity.🌱

🌿Following the plantation drive, officials held discussions on the Biological Diversity Act, biodiversity conservation initiatives, and current environmental challenges, emphasizing the importance of collective action for a sustainable future.🌳
