Today, i.e., 07.08.2026 at 16:00 hours we conducted a “ Sahachari Meeting ” with about 35 members of Self-Help Group (SHG) at Police Station Bollarum . Subsequently, the members visited Bollarum Police Station as part of the “Sahachari” Programme, conducted under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police. During the visit, I Sri Rama Laxmana Raju, SHO along with Sri M Prabhakar, DI, Sri N Sai Krishna, SI and Sri J Nagaraju, SI, and staff of Bollarum PS, explained them about the functioning of Police Stations, the procedure for receiving and redressing women’s grievances, and the investigation process in cases involving women. The members were also sensitized about various women-safety initiatives and the availability of women’s helpline services, including emergency assistance, legal aid, and counselling support. The interaction was aimed at creating awareness among women and encouraging them to approach the Police without fear whenever they require assistance or protection and explained the role of a sahachari member and its importance in the society . The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answers session, during which the participants actively interacted with the Police Officers and appreciated the efforts of the Police Department in ensuring the safety, security, and welfare of women.
