"Training and Up-skilling Program for the Sanitation Soldiers of the Coastal District of Maharashtra" a CSR initiative of The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. and implemented by Kam Foundation was inaugurated today at Alibaug Municipal Council, District Raigad.
The launch event witnessed the presence of Chief Officer of Alibag Municipal Council, Dr. Smita Singh, Executive Director - Kam Foundation, City Coordinator of Alibaug Municipal Council - Arya Jadhav, Sanitation Inspector - Mr. Ambre and frontline sanitation soldiers from Alibaug.
Following its successful implementation at Chiplun Municipal Council, this initiative continues its mission to build a safer, healthier, and more empowered sanitation workforce across Maharashtra's coastal districts.
The comprehensive training curriculum includes:
1. Structured classroom sessions
2. Hands-on field training
3. Medical check-ups
4. Linkages to government welfare schemes
5. Distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits
As a responsible public sector enterprise, The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. is strongly aligned with the national objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). SCI envisions a dignified, professional, and safe working environment for India's frontline sanitation workforce.
This initiative is being effectively implemented by Kam Foundation in alignment with the goals of Swachh Bharat Urban
