The Alummoottil Trust, under the leadership of Managing Trustee Ramesh Chandran, is currently under scrutiny following recent developments related to entry to the Alummoottil property by its rightful owners. Despite earlier announcements in publications such as Manorama and Mathrubhumi indicating that the property was open for public visits, the estate remains inaccessible, even to members of the Alummoottil family, with signage warning of dogs on the premises.

On August 9, 2024, a recognized beneficiary of the Alummoottil Trust, who is the grandson of Chellamma Channaty and has deep familial ties to the estate, was reportedly denied entry to the property. Furthermore, it is alleged that the beneficiary was subjected to assault by individuals purportedly acting on the instructions of the Managing Trustee.

In response to these allegations, it appears that access to the property is being restricted, not only to the public but also to other family members with rightful claims to the estate. Additionally, there are reports that work supervisors at Alummoottil have been directed to file false FIRs against visitors.
